  1. I'm in the unfortunate position of having to pay capital gains tax this year for a sale of a collectible.  This leads to a question where I just can't seem to find a clear answer.  Is there a threshold amount before an item is reportable or do I have to lump the sale of all collectibles into one amount when reporting?  I.e. if I sold a book or sports card for $100k, I know I need to report the capital gains on the 100k sale, but what about all the smaller $10, $20, $50 sales I made throughout the year?  Do I need to sum all these little sales for year or is (in this hypothetical example) only items sold $100k and above?  FYI, I do not have a 1099 for the sale. Thx for any help.

Very underrated title from short lived Pacific Comics. Issue #4 here starts with late Dave Stevens Princess Pam story. Loads of beautiful art from some of the best in the genre.

This was a great issue.  I still have raw copy of it somewhere.  It was one of my last books just before I quit collecting comics back in the mid-80s.  Just so happens, this is one of the few books I still kept.  Probably because of the Stevens cover, but the rest of the book was just as great.

This was my favorite Atlas title when I was a kid.  I've got nice raw copies of the run.  It's a shame Atlas folded before they could complete the story line.  What's comical about this title is that none of the covers ever matched the actual story on the inside.  I'm guessing Adams and others had the covers already drawn during concept stage before the story were even written.

  4. This thread needed a bump.  Admittedly, I haven't kept up with what's been published in the last couple of years, but when I found out that someone finally had the stones to adapt Red Nails after almost 50 years since the Thomas/Smith version, I had to check it out.  While I was at it, I picked up volumes II and III as well, which are also new adaptation of Howard's original stories.

Wow thanks for the advice! I would definitely be interested in any stories dealing with the occult, mobsters, or the supernatural/horror.

so I’ve got some starting points to look for.

Brave and the Bold #79.  Winner of the best stand-alone comic story for that year by whatever industry award standard was in place at the time.  In my opinion, this is the book that started the Adams run and not Tec 395.  Very undervalued as well.
