  1. Our least-favorite terrible forger is back with more fakes- https://www.ebay.com/itm/134522927975?hash=item1f5230fb67:g:qvUAAOSwUFBj3SgH
  2. In your example graphic, we agree 4 is fake. But imho examples 1, 2, 3, and 5 look like Roz Kirby ghost-signings to me. @Mr. Zipper - thoughts?
  3. Whoever faked the Kirby was probably copying off a Roz Kirby proxy - so making a copy of a copy. Thankfully you had the good instincts to check its authenticity before jumping on it.
  4. The Kirby is 100% fake. The Simon is 90% fake.
  5. Agree 100% with Mr. Zipper. The biggest red flag is the Kirby sig from the wrong era. The other red flag is the suspicious behavior of the seller. "dbayin46" tries to hide their previous feedback, but seemingly has an unlimited well of Lee and Kirby sigs. Above-average fakes, but fakes nonetheless.
  6. Yup. It happens- https://www.ebay.com/itm/295506530076 This one on eBay is a terrible tonfulle fake that got through PSA/DNA. https://www.ebay.com/itm/325450118316?hash=item4bc656b4ac:g:RqEAAOSwYTxjjNiD&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAkOXDOvK84JIkhF9R2GBGep7ite208qosp0ohq240qgaC4kx%2FK%2BlPhyK9SL3urbA99A2UmWSDZRmVbEOv%2FA1RPmMVgdo%2F%2FxrAyCiGJ1pXLxTWn9BCZciAuNXEY2xWJgW6X4dxF%2B1Oev%2F2sa523Qn00pp0SlQSwXFQY5gB3KU5y1WlQQNtwdTxcurGeXE%2BYS5tWw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-T2hdDCYQ This one that sold on eBay is a really well done fake that got through PSA/DNA. And then there's CGC's Portland-based competitor - they "certified" a bunch of awful Lee, Kirby, Bob Kane, and Ditko fakes until they decided to stop.
  7. The story I heard was that Hasbro was negotiating for Stallone's likeness rights for the Rocky figure, then Coleco swooped in and got them for their Rambo and the Force of Freedom toyline, which made the Rocky figure a no-go. Here're the Rocky page from Order of Battle #2, and the full-page retraction from #3-
  8. From what I can tell, original comic scripts are kinda like original movie screenplays - not a lot of people interested in them except maybe academics studying comic history or aspiring comic book writers (and they can find samples online for free https://www.comicsexperience.com/scripts/). So scripts don't seem to be easy to buy/sell/trade as collectibles. I took a quick peek on eBay and only saw four for sale. I have three in my collection - two scripts I bought from writers at their table at a comic convention, the other one a Marvel-method synopsis I bought thinking it was an original but turned out to just be a cheap third-hand photocopy. Which is kinda why I quit seeking them out. The publishers own the rights to the original scripts, so they could publish them if they thought there was a demand... but there's probably no demand. Years ago Marvel published a "Ultimate Spider-Man -script Book" with several Bendis scripts, though that book's long out of print now.
  9. On Cyclops' chest looks like Scott Lobdell.
  10. General rule of thumb: never assume signature series will increase the value of your book. Especially celebrities. When you eventually go to sell it, you'll have to hope to find someone who collects signature series books. Anyone who doesn't and just wants a nice blue 9.6 is going to skip over your book. If it was me, I would leave your Star Wars #2 as is and find some post 1999 Star Wars book to get his signature on. And if you want to roll the dice, you could get it pressed and hope you can get it to a 9.8. Though if you do that, remember that you could spend that money and still end up with a 9.6 - or worse a 9.4. But that's the risk you take. Hope this helps!
  11. To me, there's an obvious tell when a Stan signature is forged by someone right-handed. That's why I still lean towards the sig being fake.
  12. There've been a lot of fun animated Spidey shows over the years - everyone has their favorite (depending on their age when they first watched them). The current Spidey animated series is a preschool show - SPIDEY AND HIS AMAZING FRIENDS on Disney Plus. It's probably too young for a 7 year-old. The best animated Spidey shows are on Disney Plus - long-running Ultimate Spider-Man, the recent DisneyXD Spider-Man, the 90's Fox Kids Spider-Man, the 80's Spider-Man and Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. Try them out and see which your grandson clicks to. Hope this helps!
  13. Considering how messy Stan's sig got in his last few years, it's impossible to say with complete certainty, but I lean fake. You might get better opinions posting your image in the Signature Room forum.
  14. Yes, it's real. McFarlane signed these for the comic book shop he owned in the early 1990's. He signed them on Spidey's knee, and the back cover has a red "spidey" stamp to mark them as authentic. The sig on these older books is way messier than his current big/bold/legible signature, but they're real. There's more information about them here: http://thetoybox1138.blogspot.com/2021/03/the-spiders-web.html
  15. I enjoyed this character from the cartoons, but after visiting Galaxy's Edge and seeing how this character is going to live on for decades, I had to get a book signed by the voice actor.
  16. If you're splitting the lot, can I see a pic/price on the Chew #1 please? Thanks!
  17. Agree with Mr. Zipper. It resembles Roz Kirby's proxy sig.
  18. -Page 1. Second and Third prints say so on the first page. -Back cover. First print has a Star Wars video game ad. Second print has a Risk ad. Third print has an Acne cream ad.
  19. Austin did a mail-in signing last summer.

  21. If the FF books were signed on the cover and would get a CGC green label, then I'd agree with you and go with the competitor's verification. But signed on the inside as they are now, if they were my books, I'd go with CGC. Just my opinion. Regardless, el-gato, make sure you get good pictures of the sigs and print them out before you get them slabbed.
  22. NICE. First off, yes, the sigs will most likely add value. As for how to encapsulate and sell, you could send it to CGC's competitor to "verify" the signature. OR- take good photographs of the signature and the first page, then send the book to CGC to encapsulate. They won't verify or authenticate the signature, but they'll note the sig on the label. Print out photographs of the sigs, then place them in the bag with the slab. Then future buyers can see that the sig looks authentic. It's what I did with a few of my Stan Lee signed books- https://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=56122&GSub=3306 If you go with the competitor, you might gain a bump from the verification, but might lose a bump because CGC can sell for more. Your call.
