Here are the facts:  DC offered an ‘M’ cover solicited as ‘Failsafe reveal cover’.  No cover image was released prior to FOC.  From those facts, you had to decide to speculate on cover M or not. (shrug)

Here are more facts:  Many LCS’s tend to stick with cover A, and or a few of the open order variants.  Most LCS’s aren’t going to gamble on a cover M with no image available.

Here are the results:  LCS’s are complaining about the cover image being released after FOC.  The book was under ordered and is selling for a premium.

Read ‘em and weep, Mr smh

I know the cover wasnt revealed before FOC.

Other than that, I see no other facts from you. Only the spin cycle to suit your agenda

Got sources ? Na, that would be too easy for you.

Nice try.  Speculation IS educated guesses.  Full stop. :headpat:

You take the incomplete information you have, and make a bet.  If there wasn’t an element of guessing, it’d be called a ‘sure thing’.

Sure things are better than acting like you know what you're talking about and claiming it as facts

No.  They ordered plenty of Batman 125, but not necessarily plenty of cover M, because DC was dumb, and didn’t release the cover image.  At best, stores that chased the 1:500 chopped their order equally among the zillion open order covers.  More likely, they went 60-80% cover A, and tossed in a few of each of the alternate covers.

As far as stores ordering plenty, that is not what it showing up locally which is great. I am already getting e-mails from local collectors asking if I have any as their store missed it, and these are their biggest file holders. And, if the orders are so huge, then the dealer forums would not have as many complaints from stores that missed it/decided not or order it and are peeved at DC as a result.

    Guessing is not speculation.

They are going for as high as $39.99 on eBay right now

    Has dropped down significantly.

It's DC spec, on another new Batman character. Gloating because you preordered it is like saying you found gold covered poop on the side of the road. (btw, it's still poop )

From what I have heard, a lot of stores missed it as they did not want to gamble on the later solicit with no cover image posted,

    Wrong.

With a 1:500 variant and a retailer preview, stores ordered plenty.

I don't collect much in the way of indie titles, but I do enjoy re-tellings of classic childhood stories (think Hook, Wicked, Maleficent).  Plus JSC art on top of that?  I ran out and picked up these copies of Alice Ever After #1 at lunch as soon as I found out about them.

Weirdly, there are 3 covers (trade dress, virgin, ink).  The Trade dress was supposed to be a normal variant offering.  The virgin was intended to be 1:10.  And the ink was supposed to be 1:50.  But turns out there was a mistake somewhere so the virgin was produced in normal quantities, the ink was distributed as 1:10, and the trade dress was distributed as 1:50.

Cool cover, I just wish JSC had continued the symmetry and had modern day Alice holding a mug of coffee/tea.

"Speaking of Alice Ever After #1, which released in comic shops yesterday, word is that retailers' received the wrong quantities of the Campbell covers due to a printing mixup. As a result, there are fewer copies of the open-to-order Campbell variant with the logo on it and extra copies of the 1-in-10 full art incentive variant and 1-in-50 sketch incentive variant in the wild. But word from Boom is that they are printing more copies of the open-to-order Campbell variant with the logo and retailers should receive them in the next two weeks."
