  1. My 1 of 1, only SS 9.8 of Sex Criminals 14 signed and quoted by Katie Cook. Had to post this. It makes me laugh every time.
  2. Billy Tucci did this Cap fighting Black Cat back in 2007 when he was doing the Hero's for Hire run during Civil War. Still have it framed in the house.
  3. So a similar issue happened to me at C2E2 this year. Not so much for a signing, but I was picking up sketches from artist that did covers for me, but one was not finished so a CGC witness went with me and once we collected everything but the last book they took them and put them in what is basically an evidence bag (used by police) that has a seal on it. They had cards that they signed with the artist name and sealed them in the bag as well as signing the bag. They told me to hold on to the bag and do not open it. Once the other artist finished my last book they took me to get it and then opened the bag in their presence. I filled out the paperwork at the CGC booth and that's all there was to it. Just make sure you get the witness to go with you.

  6. The Jee Hyung Lee cover is nice. Preordered that one.
  7. Known defects. Foxing front top and back top cover, chipping top right of front cover, minor spine stress breaks color, and 1/8inch tear back cover.
  8. 1. CCS will review if the restoration is removable if you send it to them prior to cracking the slab. IF they cant tell you because they can not see the restoration (such as in the interior of the book), they will inform you prior to cracking the slab. Some restoration can not be fixed such as cover trims. 2. It can, it depends on what the restoration is. I will tell you from experience that removing restoration almost always lowers the grade of the book
  9. fingers crossed for a 4.0. Subscription crease was always going to keep this in the mid to low grade. Thanks everyone.
  10. So I don't have this in hand yet, it is still on its way from merry old England (it does have the 10p stamp on the front). What I do know is that the centerfold is in tact. Two of the interior pages have a small 1/4" tear as seen in the photos and on page has a small 1/2" crease. I will be sending this off to be pressed.
  11. that happens when one book has a witnessed signature and a signature that was not witnessed.
  12. Is anyone else angry over this??? I recently went to Wizard World Chicago to get some modern books signed and graded. I had purchased the $50.00 10 pack of CGC signature witness passes for 10 books from Wizard. I had gotten six books signed by Turner and was going to get the last four signed by Loeb later in the day. When I went to get the books turned into CGC, they explained that because the books were signed, they would cost extra to grade. Now this just pisses me off. Normally a modern book, without the 20% discount is $16.00, at the convention, they are $22.00. Here is my kicker, signed yellow label grading at the con, $34.00 a book. AND CGC did not even do the witnessing, it was a Wizard representitive that did it. So why the markup for something they did nothing for. Oh and this one got me too, one book had three signatures cause the passes only count one book per pass, per table and three of the artist were at the table, so they all counted as one pass. Anyway, CGC charged an extra $5.00 per signature. That book cost $44.00 to get graded, luckly it came back as a 9.8, but still, over $200 to grade 6 modern books. I love CGC but that is overboard. Oh of the 6, 3 were 9.6 and 3 were 9.8's. Heres a list Wolverine: Origins 1 9.8 Turner SS Fathom 10 VIP edition 9.8 Turner, Turnbull, and Krul SS Supergirl 1 9.8 Turner SS Supergirl 2 9.6 Turner SS Civil War Frontline 1 Sketch variant 9.6 Turner SS Witchblade 100 VIP edition 9.6 Turner SS
