  1. My first comic-con as a collector was last year at SDCC. I got a few different books, submitted some through CGC. The one I was most excited about was a nice copy of X-Men #266 that I got signed by Andy Kubert (witnessed). The book never made it back to me, and was lost in transit by UPS on the return trip. Painfully, I found out that insurance was an option, one I had overlooked. Anyhow, I know I am assed out for any kind of recourse because even if I found it, it likely has changed hands several times. I would be interested in getting ahold of this specific copy if it turns up. CGC 1579592001 Edit: This should be in the general forum... if a moderator would like to move it, please do. Thanks!
  2. Thank you very much! Smooth transaction, fast and secure shipping!
  3. Awesome, thank you for putting my mind at ease! It is a great feeling to have a slabbed book in my collection! I still have the first unboxing of my own submitted books to look forward to from SDCC, hopefully sooner than later!
  4. I didn't read The Forge or The Casting. I did like this book, although I was clearly missing some pertinent information. Being new to comics I had no idea who they were dropping on the last page. I want to subscribe to this but the last page was VERY intimidating at $4 a pop or more...!
  5. 2nd issue of this series dropped today. I am enjoying it so far! Granted, my opinion is one of someone who is new to comics... Anybody happen to know what run(s) would contain the story arc(s) where they (Logan, Rogue & Gambit) were in the Astral Plane before?
  6. I don't know anything about a midnight release but I just called my LCS and got both variants I wanted set aside in my folder!
  7. Thinking about submitting this. Thank you for your input! There is a speck near the top of the N at the end of the title. This is glossy and appears to have been printed this way.
  8. Oh wow I thought that Jim Lee WW cover was a sketch. I like it in color, might snag that one too!
  9. I am getting this specifically for the variant cover by Kubert... http://www.midtowncomics.com/store/dp.asp?PRID=Dark+Nights+Metal+%231+Cove_1649043
  10. Based on this (4th reply): I think the glue on the edge is ok. Feeling slightly better...
  11. Yesterday I recieved my first CGC encapsulated comic for my collection in an ebay purchase. Avengers Annual #10 - CGC 9.2 (0271595007) I don't have anything to compare it to other than pictures online, and after a little bit I have myself concerned with a few things: 1. White Pages: The label says it is white pages but it doesn't even look close to me. I know this is subjective as far as when and by whom the book was printed. It means original condition pages, not necessarily white. I took a close up picture if anyone that knows this book can chime in. 2. Sealing glue: There is a couple of inches where there is glue on the outside where the seam of the encasement is. Is this normal? Another picture is attached for that. These two things and not knowing better gives me that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. The book itself is nice, but I am not an experienced grader so I cannot tell if it is worthy of the 9.2. If there is legitimate concern with the issues above I will add more pictures of the condition.
