  1. Yeah, that sounds more in line. FYI, that sound you hear is me gathering my AFPC run to send into CGC...
  2. I was follow las night's HA auction. Ended up the underbidder on one book ( ) but also saw this... Um, did I miss something? Were 2 collectors high on Easter chocolate? I know Cole's crime books are under-represented a bit compared to the horror / romance genres, but this seemed a bit extreme. Thoughts???
  3. I'm in. What the heck.... even a blind squirrel, right...?
  4. Ok, I'd like to try and help out if I can. I've got a few large custom sets and I've gone about it 2 ways but I think 1 "may" help you. This is a tad involved, but I swear the payoff is worth it. For my Hobgoblin set I'm going for a chronological order. So I went to the Marvel Chronology Project's site and got all the appearances I wanted and put them in an Excel sheet. Then I numbered them all so that when I entered them they'd be where I wanted them listed. So my PPSSM #85 went in as a 4, my ASM #275 as a 17, and so on. So for the most part I had it mapped out before hand so I didn't have to edit them with each entry. However it's far from perfect, as now with new listings I just go far enough ahead to squeak anything in I need to. So I have the recent ASM's as like 130 and the Miles Morales ones 135 or so. I'd just have to re-number a few if I needed to, not a big deal. But something else popped up, a few books I hadn't accounted for! Such as a variant cover here and there, or the earlier Kingsley apps before ASM #238, so now what? Well, you can use decimals! So I have 2 Web of #85's, and they are 4.0 and 4.1. A Spidey mini came out a few years ago, but it takes place around #250 so they are 11.33 or whatever. You can squeak them in when necessary! If I can do this for a custom set that is comprised of 5+ characters in chronological order I'm sure you can do it! If you'd like to check out the progress: Good luck!!!
  5. There only 1 more I don't have, so no worries. Sure some were rough, but I actuality think his style worked for the demons on this one. Actually, the one I'm missing is very dark, so is not as jarring.
  6. Avatar has a bunch, and I've mentioned a handful. Uber is a WW2 horror/sci-fi story. Lapham's "Ferals" is werewolf stuff. http://www.avatarpress.com/2015/06/david-laphams-ferals/ Ellis did BLACK SUMMER, NO HERO, BLACKGAS, and others.
  7. Alan Moore's "The Courtyard" and "Providence" may work as well, Lovecraft stuff. Providence Compendium https://a.co/d/aqqAn0Y http://www.avatarpress.com/thecourtyard/ Moore has described magic as a disease of language, and the Courtyard is kinda about that.

  9. Slight edit / addendum... updated scans of PPSSM #147. I'm putting up a new post because I wanted to highlight something. I didn't even realize that it's one of those QES books. I never owned one before. I don't think I'd pay extra to get one or anything, and I'm not a fan of the stickers on the back of the slab, but the notes on the back label are kinda cool so I'm putting up the back scan. I'd never seen or noticed one before.
  10. Ok, this was the main pickup! The funny thing is, I didn't mean to win it - but I'm glad I did! I threw in a bid and went to play darts. I came home and after I won both matches I found out that I won this one too! It's a great centered copy, with the MCG bar at the top having room and the CCA stamp having plenty of room. I can see the JR / JR sigs on the left. It's a tad wrapped at the top, but I can still make out the MCG sig a bit so that's ok. It may not actually look this bright, but MAN it's pretty shiny! Ladies and gents, my new Amazing Spider-Man 9.8 WP!!!
  11. Thanks man! Here's a little more progression for ya! First off, an important one in the Hobgoblin saga (as I'm calling it). Even though he's not on the cover, it's where Macendale makes a deal with N'Astrah and we all know what that eventually leads to. This one was a decent price so I added it on to my main purchase, but first - Spectacular Spider-Man #147!
  12. Just an FYI to others, I already reported this. I got the error when adding a new book to a custom set so I tried adding it to a competitive set. The thing is, I was creating a "new" competitive set and it didn't like that either. This was what I got: I guess the errors are related. Just a head's up all!
  13. Still making the '91 cut a new arrival! I've still got a major one on the way, so this will have to do for now. I've had this one on the radar forever and finally found one at the right time. I know he was in #1 & 3 but this #2 will do for now:
  14. Cool! North Shore? If you go back, try Outer Limits in Waltham on Moody St.
  15. I'd only put it up there if you really want to get rid of it. I'm guessing $20k+, but that's just me. Restored or not it's still a 6.0 and is purty!
  16. Guys that wear plain get all the chicks.... Looks much nicer with white pages. For comparison...
  17. Unless I'm unclear on digest size, yep! Here's a pic:

  19. But it wasn't back when these were being printed!
  20. I think the word "harlot" just just underused these days.....
  21. Some of these are brand new, most I've had for a bit. Executive Broad is new...
  22. Started scanning some today during the NCAA early games. Not done yet, but I'll share a few.
