  2. How did you get in touch with Dan? I can't ever get a response on social media. thanks
  3. Variant cover for Symbiote Spider-Man: Alien Reality #1 by Pepe Larraz. "Symbiote swap" of Leonardi's Spider-man #17. and this nod from Jorge Molina (Captain Marvel #18) to Jae Lee's War of Kings #4
  4. Didn't want to start a new thread, but does anyone know of Alan Davis works digitally only now? I own and have seen other pages from his work on the infinity books and they all seem to be blue line with Farmer inks exclusively. Is this true for his cover work as well? Thanks in advance
  5. Love Booth. Is Corona inking over original pencils or scans? I know when Rapmond was inking a lot of his DC stuff it seemed to be a mix
  6. First time participating. Included 3 covers: Captain Marvel #18 by Jorge Molina Justice League #42 by Fabok/Mendoza Spider-man: Life Story #4 by Kaare Andrews And 2 panel pages: Avengers: Rage of Ultron p.56 by Jerome Opena And 'Tec #1002 p.10 by Walker/Hennessy
  7. I tried for a short time to move this early in the year on both eBay and these boards for 4k obo without so much as an inquiry. I’ve had the same happen at other times over the last year or two, getting more at auction than asking on other sites. Unless you’re a known commodity in the hobby, the comfort and/or exposure certain avenues provide buyers/bidders is almost certainly worth the fee associated with consigning from a financial standpoint imo. (I’ve taken a bath on a few pieces as well, but overall done alright as I’ve navigated the hobby the last 4 or so years since entering)
  8. Very nice. It looked like allred but came in that inkyknuckles box. How did that come about? (He's not repped by them, right?)
  9. What was in the portfolio? Complete story? Were the others commissions? Thanks for sharing
  10. Enjoyed this sequence from Brad Walker/Andrew Hennessy. Gordon having Batman's back, from 'Tec #1002 https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=121197
  11. This route is becoming much more common nowadays, especially for those who aren't completely digital. Makes sense, as it seems much more convenient, as well as efficient, to play around with layouts, poses etc without having to go back and erase or whatever
  12. A new addition to my CAF gallery...the Justice League! https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1662858&GSub=191792 Am i doing this right?? Lol, I imagine Vodou pulling out his hair about now Received these in the post over the last week or so. The JL cover is a bit of a grail of mine, or at the least a benchmark or something of that nature. This was one of two covers in particular when i first started collecting I remember coming across and loving but were significantly out of my price range. I had accepted that and was happy swimming comfortably in my end of the pool over the next few years. But times change and so do situations. Feels good to know now that I've managed to obtain one of them a few years down the road (The other I've attempted at but the dealer has proven to be "difficult". I will stay diligent!) Lastly an Alan Davis/Farmer page i got off CAF with some (imo) great contemplative shots of Thanos
  13. What impact do outliers like this generally have? Will we see a bump in prices from the artist/rep? I’m certain at the least that perceived value of prospective sellers has increased
  14. Yeah, people wanna talk about the McSpidey but this was insane. I nearly fell out of bed
  15. Vodou hit most of the negotiating points on the head, but I'll add bundling to the tactics. I've found reps to be more receptive to work better deals for multiple pieces. Obviously in this scenario they're getting more money for their clients, but your also getting the pages at a price you're comfortable with. Again, this is all predicated on the ability of a rep to maintain a healthy line of communication. Ymmv
  16. Kwan was great the first couple times i dealt with him, but the last year/18 months have been particularly frustrating. Don't know if things have changed for him personally. Seems like a nice guy. I dont really want to bag on anyone in this thread, but he strikes me as a fan first, rep second. I've had him openly tell me it's not his day job, and idk if that's the right mindset for his clients. I've attempted to work out upper 4 figure deals that just get "lost" in the process. So, unfortunately, what ends up happening lately is i spend my money elsewhere with someone more accommodating, and try again the next time I'm in the market for a piece.
  17. I'd say after a couple months is fair game. But this mindset can vary widely between reps (and which artist). Never hurts to ask imo.
  18. Ah yes Fanfare. That's was it. Ty. I've probably spent more money and had more transactions with Cadence than any other rep. Some were seamless transactions, and some incredibly frustrating ones. There's a whole thread somewhere on here discussing them in particular. Again, just my experience. The thing is it, it doesn't keep me from going back. They rep some artists i love, and you have to deal with it if you want access to new art. (I think a lot of reps know the art sells itself in most cases, but it's still poor practice, and a disservice to the client)
  19. I don't mind sharing my experiece dealing with certain reps. I'll just generalize, but if you want more specifics feel free to PM me. Two categories for me when considering communication, turnaround times, flexibility, shipping etc. Also keep in mind, when buying new to market pages from reps, you're paying a premium for initial access. I would bet the majority of pages that sell would not realize the initial price paid at resell/auction. Which I'm completely aware of and ok with (to a certain extent). The market will dictate price, unless you consider other circumstances (like the impulsive hivemind Felix has managed to create over at his site ). Again, these are in my experience over the last few years being in the hobby. Some I've dealt with multiple times, others only once or twice. (Not including dealers or artists themselves, only reps) 1. Good/Great overall experience: Kirby's Comic Art Albert Moy Felix Comic Art Kirk Dilbeck Black Diamond Comicon Art Splash Page Art Artcoholics Stuart Immonen/Greg Land's old rep? (can't remember his site, maybe someone can remind me, but he was a pleasure to deal with. Wanted to give a shout out) 2. Mixed Bag (for a variety of reasons) Kwan Chang Cadence Comic Art Essential Sequential MGA
  20. Wouldn't fit in either of my portfolios, so went ahead and got this framed. Mats weren't cut as cleanly as I'd have liked, but it really only shows at certain angles. May take it back to get it cleaned up. Happy with the frame i chose.
  21. No worries. Cadence has the cover for Generations: Thor by Asrar I've always thought cool https://cadencecomicart.com/art.php?page=35683 (I own a splash from this book myself!).
  22. Not from a Thor run, but i have an Incredible Hulk cover featuring Thor by Greg Land I may consider selling if you're interested https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1558105
