  1. Immediately thought, oh...almost a 4.0. Looks like some agree. I'll go along with a 3.5 on this one.
  2. 30 spine ticks along with accumulation of other flaws (inc. minor stain on back) = 5.0
  3. I don't know, could go 9.8 but as I can see only 2 serious flaws, I'll lean towards a 9.6.
  4. Here's something I saved. From what I can remember, someone put this on the forum several months ago.
  5. It's flat, shiny and has no accumulation of creases no stains so I'm gonna' say 7.5. Nice copy.
  6. Wondering if Disney might have any interest in purchasing DC down the road if and when it becomes available. Could it happen? There's always something kick starting the hobby...maybe that's the next big one.
  7. Not that I see any flaws, but IMO there's a better chance of it coming back as a 9.6 than a 9.9 or better. I am simply basing this on historical results. I had a trusted Overstreet adviser tell me that you could send in a stack of what you believe are perfect. Some will certainly come back 9.8, but several could come back as 9.6's or even 9.4's. None will come back as a 9.9 or better. And, he's sent in thousands of books for grading. So, while not impossible, highly improbable. CGC is very meticulous and thorough, and they see things you don't.
  8. 7.5 because although it has an accumulation of ticks, corners, some edge wear along top...no serious creases. Considering it's an older Silver Age, could an 8.0 be possible? That's a nice copy.
  9. Okay, if that was your suggestion then it most definitely was the right one as that's exactly what I did and it worked out well. I learned a long time ago in any situation, it never hurts to ask as the worst he can say is no. Thank you for the suggestion.
  10. I knew it was restored, just didn't realize it had a photo-copied cover.
  11. Here's one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/203327234099?hash=item2f573f6033:g:xVgAAOSwEShgYyAe
  12. Sorry, I have no idea when this came out. So, is it modern?
  13. Sorry, all I got is this one. Not CGC graded, but it did survive a fire. The upper right corner was extra crispy, so I broke off the burned bits. Bought this over 40 years ago for a song.
  14. Wow, what a thing to have. I would be very interested in finding out how you came to possess it. I think there's a story here.
  15. My thinking it had more to do with the relationship we have. I was actually invited to and went to his wedding. He invited a handful of his customer/business acquaintances at the time, and I just happened to be one of them. We still keep in touch from time to time and get together for coffee. Even so, if he didn't do anything, I would not have held it against him...and I told him that when I brought it to his attention as I did agree to some of the posts that suggested I leave bygones be bygones.
  16. All I can say is that I've dealt with this particular seller since the late '70's and I trusted him. I had no reason to think it wasn't an original cover. Admittedly, I remember thinking at the time it looked odd, but simply decided it looked that way it did due to the restoration. And yeah, even though it happened 12 years ago, I do feel kind of foolish and embarrassed it happened.
