    New Gods Kirby Run

A follow up of sorts on OMAC. The Bug! limited series picked up the storyline. I thought it was neat to get some closure and Mike Allred doing the art too!

    New Gods Kirby Run

Alright, Alright, Alright! Managed to score a number 4 of New Gods at 9.0 for a good price, under $50. I do not have a raw copy of this issue or even a beat up copy. Good thing I have the black and white trade copy from several years ago. So far I have two slabbed New Gods issues from Jack Kirby's original run. Debating whether to get the "Return of" issues and in no rush. I do have a couple of raw issues of the Forever People from the same time but no slabs. That will change soon. Here is a question: why was there never a crossover with OMAC and the New Gods? This would have been an idea to see where it would go. Update: 01/12/18 I am about half way with my New Gods Kirby run. Have decided to send in my raw books. Not sure about a third raw book but I love the series and will get it slabbed. There are some readable copies I do have on hand somewhere. Did not realize there were at least three copies of #9 in my possession along with a #7. I will find more as I look back through my collection. And my OMAC run is slowly closing on the gaps. May find my John Byrne OMACs and get them slabbed as well. That is for a later time. Update: 04/12/18 I have a New Gods 1 graded at 8.0. I am pleased but hoping for a 9.0. 8.0 is good.I have a number 8 graded at 6.0. The seller I bought it from neglected to tell me about water stain on the back inside page. Live and learn. I a couple of issues of 7 that I will look over to see which on is the best to send. That is later this month.

    Horror Comics

It's October and Halloween will be here soon. Anyways I am currently looking for horror comics on eBay that are slabbed, especially the Twisted Tales series. I do have one book because it had Richard Corben doing a story and cover. It was bonus I became interested in Bruce Jones and Jan Strnad stories as well. Having collected many raw Twisted Tales, Eerie, Creepy, and a few Weird War Tales on and off I seem to enjoy the short story styled format with 2 to 3 stories in a book. To me more content and an enjoyable story can be told in a few pages. Hopefully I can find some great gems to get my collection complete.
  7. One eBay seller years ago used the excuse of "having the book in his trunk and was rear ended" while driving to the post off.

    Shooter’s Valiant

    1. Archer and Armstrong 2. Eternal Warrior 3. X-O Manowar 4. Magnus 5. Solar Psi Lords was a good series, I thought, because of the evolution of the Hard Corps into the future. Archer and Armstrong was an unusual comic to me and that’s what drew me in especially when it was just two guys hanging out with one just being helpful because it was the right thing. And the crossbow Archer carried.

    Shooter’s Valiant

I got to meet Jim Shooter at Heroescon 2017. Was lucky enough to pick up a sealed tin of Warriors of Plasm zero set for 10 bucks at the con to sign the inside certificate. Never realized how tall he is in person. Chatted with him a couple of minutes and gushed like a fan boy.

    Shooter’s Valiant

I don’t know if anyone else feels nostalgic about the early nineties when Jim Shooter was involved with Valiant. My first encounter with Valiant was the first issue of Archer and Armstrong. At the time I had just finished collecting Barry Windsor-Smith’s Weapon X story in Marvel Comics Presents, I think that is the title, and wanted more of this artist. Collecting comics has been a small passion of mine since the local trash man all those years ago rescued a number 1 of Rom the space knight from the trash. Granted the cover was gone but it was the comic which got me hooked. Anyways, now I have been looking back at the early Valiant books and find I miss them and wonder where the stories could have really gone if Jim Shooter had stayed at Valiant. I wouldn’t have minded if Warriors Of Plasm was the trade off because I think he would have gotten around to making that series no matter where he went. Now I am collecting the books I want even if I am scared to get the books I have slabbed but I love to read them once in a while but I have the early trades I use more frequently. I hope there are other collectors who miss the early Valiant are out there. If not then that is cool.
  11. Would you be able to add to the set Punisher Max 2004 the Punisher The End #1? Thank you in advance for your consideration.
