  1. I don't care for Willis and can't think of the last movie of his I saw but he has an amazing work ethic. He seems to be always filming movies.
  2. Price it at a 9.6 ,but be flexible. It's how the kool kids roll.
  3. I know this isn't the right spot but this isn't worth a new thread. I've never seen a Transformers movie. If I decide to binge them, is the order they were released the way to watch them? Isn't one of them a prequel or am I thinking of another franchise?
  4. All that matters is the purty 9.8 label. Don't sweat the details.
  5. How in the world did the hobby survive without CGC to tell us what a book would grade at.
  6. I wouldn't submit anything until you have an idea what anything is worth. It's 216 business days, not calender days and I'd be surprised if they kept to that timespan.
  7. Here is a bizarre situation I'm having with Amazon. Two months ago, I bought this Chromebook along with a few food items. They were scheduled to be delivered on a day when much of the country was experiancing really bad weather and FED EX put out alerts. Amazon notified me my shipment would be delayed. It showed up a couple of days later but a week later I got a notification that the shipment was still on it's way. Today I get an email from Amazon asking me if I would like to cancel the order or have them reship it. No option to inform them I already have it. It seems that if I were so inclined, I could easily get another computer or not pay for this one. It amazes me that Amazon would lose track of a delivery like that, and makes me wonder how often this occurs on a daily basis.
  8. 6) Yes 5) Plenty of time to think about that later 4) It hurts the value, and pretty much destroys the value of common books but not expensive books. Star Wars were reprinted so their values vary greatly depending on which version you have 3) Send us pictures. Labels can be removed using products but dont do anything right now 2)Same as #3 1) I wouldn't. Post some photos.
  9. Think about the rule of 25. CGC is helping to make it a rule of 24. You should thank them for storing your books for free for a year.
  10. If you dont mind waiting a bit, I'd cherrypick some auctions at MCS and re-consign the books, marking them up 25%. Flip the books twice and keep saving. In a few months you'll be able to get one nice book.
  11. I've no idea as they were all coverless and I couldn't read yet anyway.
  12. I agree but it seems CGC doesn't have any experts in the field. If I was in charge of CGC, it would be on my list of things to see get done, but not at the top. I might put it before recruiting some new private signings but below improving turn around times and getting new staff. Someone today posted they were at 14 months waiting for a book they had pressed and slabbed. Now may not be the best time to put a lot of work into improving a niche market. First you put out the fires, then you weed the lawn.
  13. Has anyone estimated what percent of the census are foreign copies, editions, variants , whatever you want to call them. I agree CGC is doing a horrible job of labeling them and needs to step up and do a better job on them. I'm just wondering if it makes sense ,at the present moment, to divert resources in this. It appears no one there is expert on these and its such a small niche that resources may be used more strategically . Is there a database where this information is easily available? I don't think you can expect CGC to research each odd book they get, especially if the book is in a language the graders don't understand. I have a spanish language comic titled La Patrulla X. At the top of the comic it says Segunda Edicion and on the bottom it says #1. If I call it Patrulla X and list it as such, I'm missing 95% of my prospective buyers. If I call it Giant size X-Men #1( Spanish Edition), a lot more eyes will see it. If someone asks me if I'm interested in buying a spanish language GS X-Men #1, they have my attention. If they ask if I'm interested in a La Patrulla X second edition, not so much. It seems like CGC could use a foreign comic expert. Has anyone offered their services? .
  14. These would look much better in a mylar. I wouldn't slab them.
  15. Remember that if you sold them on ebay, MCS or just about anywhere, you have expenses. $2150 sold on MCs would net you around $1900. If you sell on the boards, I wouldn't expect full gpa.
  16. The books were stolen. You should get the value of the books on the day they were stolen. Not todays value, nor the value when you sent them. Look up GPA for the day on the police report or on his insurance claim. If you were happy with the 46 books he did, why not take some future credit as part of the deal. He offered 900. You want 2100. Would $1500 and $500 in credit work for you? Something along those lines?
  17. I heard Kirby had some. I wonder if they are the ones you have. Very nice, no matter where they came from.
  18. I've never heard of ,or seen, a Marvel File Copy bound volume. Please show us more and how you came to have it. Please.
  19. A few years ago, when I was still selling mystery boxes here, I got a complaint from a guy whose package arrived all taped up. I had the label showing it weighed 27 pounds when I mailed it, but he said it was less than 10 pounds. Evidently, it had broken open in transit, and there was a note inside the box to that affect. We worked out a partial refund and I figured it was over. A month or so goes by and I come home to find two boxes on my front stoop. Within the box that had broken open, I'd packed the books in boxes I'd recieved. Somebody in the PO somewhere found these two boxes and sent them to me. I'd only lightly taped them as they were going into a bigger box but thats how they were returned to me after being who knows where for weeks.
  20. This has taken quite the unexpected twist. I think the worst part is the feeling of helplessness. It sucks when you need to depend on others to do the work and all you can do is sit back and hope. Best of luck.
  21. Maybe they were sold on Canadian Forces bases?
  22. I'd use a short box, with an extra lid on the bottom , and some cardboard on the inside if it fits. Lots of tape and don't plug the hand holes.
  23. Yes , the offer is valid and was a first shot in negotiations. it was a serious offer and I had no intention of disrupting your sales thread.
