  1. Why do you say that? Who knows what he's hidden or what assets he has?
  2. Older slaps sometimes have Newton rings, but if you slide a business card into a side slot, they vanish. A book slabbed in 2008 is less likely to have been pressed than one slabbed last year but more likely to have sustained some damage to the book or the case.
  3. If the On Sale Now copies are anywhere near 40% of the 179 copies, I'd be convinced that only the first prints have the date. If they represent 20% or less, I'd say only a third of prints have that ad. If I owned a slabbed copy, I'd say it's a first print until shown otherwise. It's not something that concerns me but I'll be curious if the various printings ever break out. A new chapter in an eighty-year-old history.
  4. How would they know which version they have if it's an interior ad?
  5. No. It's rare because very few copies exactly like that exist. Without the double cover, it would be a low-demand book. It appeals to the tiny niche of the hobby that collects these. I used to, but I preferred them raw. I don't think you'll recoup the expense of getting it slabbed if you plan on reselling.
  6. I'd think it depends on the books and the dealers. If Dealer A has three AF15s in 4.0, he may not be willing to spend a chunk of cash on a fourth copy that won't sell quickly. On the other hand, he might have just sold his last AF 15, be flush with cash, and need the book. You might think Spider-Man 252 is a key book, but a dealer who has a dozen may disagree. What Metropolis thinks is a key book will vary from what Dannys Discount Comics thinks is key.
  7. Reading between the lines, the response from the other CGC rep seems to say they won't refund your fee if the book is rejected for being too risque.
  8. I was hopeful, but it was disappointing. Conor looked much thicker than I expected, and he's been rehearsing this role as the ultimate a-hole for the last few years. It had its moments, but not enough of them.
  9. If we know the third printings have a different ad, just note the difference on the label. It's a book I was never interested in, and couldn't afford if I was. I've never heard this and I can understand why people aren't keen to discuss it.
  10. I'd never heard of the product, and the first review I found online said he burned out two units in a short time. Hope that helps.
  11. This Saturday, March 30th. 1530 North Stone Avenue. In the heart of Tucson. It's a small local show with about thirty vendors. I'm setting up for the first time and will have mostly $1 books, including many graphic novels.
  12. Thankfully, it's both a DC and a reprint so it isn't like there is much demand for it.
  13. Why would anyone sell today for cash when they can possibly get more in four to six months? Maybe their landlord is the type that doesn't put much faith in promises, or the auto financing company isn't willing to wait before they take back their car. Should their daughter sit in jail until Josh gets around to sending the bail money?
  14. I'm not aware of a different version of Superman 1. Marvel Comics 1 has two versions- different months listed on the cover. Perhaps that is what you are thinking of? If it exists, I'll be interested to learn about a second version. People here have much more knowledge than I have on the subject.
  15. Are you asking if DC will keep Batman's 85th Anniversary logo around for the next ten years?
  16. Almost anyone can change their non-business status by filing a few forms online and paying a couple of fees. In NY, it was a three-step process, completed in a day. Wells Fargo did everything for me in Nevada for $20, and I've three in Arizona that cost less than $100 all-in. I used to spend a few hours a week working, but since I "retired" I find myself hitting small junk shops more. I almost have my second wheel going, where I have stuff on sale in three different towns and I can slide it from location to location.
  17. Going only by the FC and judging from the top down, with the rest unseen until I got there, I was hovering between a 6.0 and 6.5. Looking at the last half inch, I have no issue with it being a 4.5.
  18. Three Alex Ross 50th Anniversary Hot Wheels featuring DC Heroes. Three for $20 shipped. Cool Green Lantern Dodge Van, while SUPERMAN rocks a vintage art deco bus. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman has ditched her invisible jet for custom Austin mini Three for $20 shipped.
  19. Captain America mini- lunch box. I think it is from the 1990s but it is well loved. Dings, dents, paint missing, interior rusting. Give an old soldier a good home. $10 shipped.
  20. Two GIJoe Locust mini-copters with joe named Hollow Point. Factory sealed from 2003, but one box has a bit of shelf warping. $25 shipped or $15 for one.
  21. Lot 1. Approx. 35 Star War Figure Stands. $30 shipped From 2005. The tops have the movies bame and run the gamut from Star Wars to Attack of the Slith and Attack of The Clomes. There are five larger stands that look like they interlock with other pieces, three clear oval stands, and multiple rectangular ones with a name on the front.
  22. I'm gearing up for the Tucsom comic show next week( not the big one) and keep coming across curiosities that no sane person would want. No bad people or people who dislike me. Shipping is FREE if you spend $10. That's for real " Mericans who live in the lower 48. All others pay exact cost. No refunds on this stuff as it isn't worth the effort. Look closely and ask questions. I'd prefer Paypal or zelle but I'm easy. Everything ships from Tucson Az and I go to the PO twice a week.
  23. Found this today. $20 in a thrift shop. I was going to pass but then I realized it's a Sideshow,from 2003.
