  1. there is no gpa for a 5.0 mmc 54... Thanks for the info. Hard to say what it's actually worth. According to the census it's the second highest graded and it has a great Schomberg cover. SLR
  2. Sweet!!! Some really nice ones! Great Books, All!! This thread has really heightened my appreciation of Timely books after being primarily a DC collector for the last thirty/forty years. BTW, I had my only Timely--a Marvel Mystery 54--slabbed a few years ago and it came back a 5.0. with Off White pages. Can anyone tell me what the GPA is on this book? I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks, SLR
  3. DRX Love the colors on your Superboy 68. Beautiful copy!
  4. John72tex, I've been enjoying your Batman Silver Age collection. I especially lkie the Batwoman covers and appearances. I just bought a copy of the Batman 105 in CGC 7.0. I've been looking for one since I sold my copy some twenty years ago to raise money to buy a condo. I sold some nice books but it was worth it. Thus, I'm actively pursuing the other Batwoman covers in the title. You have a great collection. If you have any undercopies, LMK, Thanks, SLR
  5. Cool cover ! "Hell Hath No Fury Than a Woman Scorned."
  6. From Sept. 1952, an issue one doesn't see very often. It's a nice copy except for those obtrusive initials. I enjoy the backups in these early fifties' Adventures especially Green Arrow and Johnny Quick and Aquaman. I think Ramona Fradon was the artist on Aquaman. There weren't too many women in the field back then and I've always admired her work. I met her a few times in San Diego.
  7. Nice book and great story. I just reread it a few weeks ago. I always liked Green Arrow and enjoyed his backup features in World's Finest and other DC titles.
  8. Great book! Origin tale. My copy is about the same grade as yours, perhaps just slightly better. Consequently, I've enjoyed reading it over the years. And I do mean years; I've owned it since the mid-sixties. Late at night now; I'll post it tomorrow or Thursday. SLR
  9. THis thread could use a bump. Here's an issue I don't see very often. Would you believe my father bought this for me at Cherokee Book Store in Hollywood, Calif when I was in middle school. He bought about 10 books that day for a buck, and he kept this one for himself only because he was a big Science Fiction fan--especially Asimov and Frank Herbert. After my father died last year, my mom told me she still had the box of books. This one was by far the highest grade.
  10. Oakland Copy purchased when Vinnie first brought the collection to San Diego. Anyone remember what year that was?
  11. Not the highest grade as all the other Adventures, I've enjoying perusing on this thread,, but being lower grade means that I can always read the stories without fear of lowering the grade. And the Krypto story is one of my favorite stories of all time.
  12. Maybe it's an illusion or perspective, but the stamp looks larger inside the slab than outside the slab. Maybe one of these days I'll slab the book since I already read the story many moons ago. The slab scan is larger. Ken I figured as much! BTW, Ken, Thanks for the WW 108. Pricey, but it is the highest graded and I love it in the new slab! Great cover and great story! Hope to see you in San Diego this summer.
  13. One of my favorite pre-code Heath covers. I'm sending it out to CGC next week; there's some "Marvel Chipping" on the back so it won't be a high grade, but I still love the book!
  14. Beautiful copy. I always did like those Elongated Man backup stories. Infantino was a master! Still is, acutally!
