  1. Great books and not all that outrageous when you consider the crazy prices being paid for low grade copies of Detective 69!
  2. I am sure there are some bidders who do not pay for their winnings!
  3. Congrats on finally completing your Superboy run! Thats quite an accomplishment! Thanks for sharing your Superboy books with us!
  4. I use Moisture Eliminator that I bought from the Dollar Tree to trap the excess moisture. It does trap a lot of moisture! Just make sure the Moisture Eliminator does not leak!
  5. At Wondercon, besides the CGC 9.0 copy that Harley had, I found one other copy, a raw very low grade copy that Terry O'Neill and Jamie Graham own with an asking price of $450. I had to pass on it because of the page quality.
  6. Harley Yee had a CGC 9.0 copy at Wondercon with an asking price of $16K!
  7. I was debating whether to buy some of the beat up copies that Superworld had but their prices were IMO very aggressive for being lower grade copies. Finding these books in nice shape is mission impossible! If you are lucky to come across a copy of any Phantom Stranger pull the trigger right away!
  8. I agree with that sentiment! Asking prices are absolutely in the stratosphere! I am pretty sure everyone thinks this. Everyone but the sellers. Should have bought one a couple of years ago. Now I don't think I will ever get one. I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment! Asking prices are in the stratosphere!
  9. Both great covers, but one involves a calendar and the other a menacing/looming joker brandishing two guns. I think people gravitate toward the violence/danger associated with 69 more so then 71, same reason TEC 62 (joker holding ballons) probably never reaches the levels of a TEC 69 (or TEC 71) - my two cents. Anyway, the TEC 71 CGC 8.0 for sale in the next HA auction should tell you what you want to know in terms of value, though no one knows what a TEC 69 CGC 8.0 would go for these days. I am sure it would be eye popping. What about the price jump of Tec 69 trickling down to Tec 76? Last November a CBCS 8.5 copy of Tec 76 sold for an eye popping $11,352!
  10. Last I know, Eric Roberts, the son of the billionaire owned it and he was showing it off on his website along with his other incredible books but I don't know what happened to it.
  11. Probably should have kept my San Francisco 9.6 copy! EJR
  12. Mike, thanks for sharing your great Reilly books! l love your Adventure 82! I have the Church copy of Adventure 82 and its a CGC 9.2 with slight color touch. EJR
  13. Me too - they're DC, we get multiple Flessel covers, and they have a presentation/feel that epitomize the Golden Age flair. I love 'em! Sandman and the Spectre are indeed awesome, though I keep reading that they (and their titles) are on life support (in regards to popularity). Perhaps there is some truth to that as this thread has been silent for 10 months; I had to use the Search function to find it. Shame, such great books... Steve, thanks once again for reviving this great thread and for sharing your awesome Adventure 47! EJR
  14. Hi Steve, it was nice talking with you at WonderCon yesterday! At first I didn't recognize you without your hat! I was looking for you today at the show but could not find you. I wanted to ask you what you knew about the 'Paul' collection since Bob Storms had Captain America Comics 72 and 73 from that collection for sale at the show. They were both nice mid-grade copies. EJR
