  1. My only pulp...I just liked the cover, I had no idea it was Isaac Asimov's first published story.
  2. Huge price drop for a 9.8....is this a CBCS thing? I wouldn't be too happy if I were the owner.
  3. My interactions with dealers are usually "If I give you $200 can I be your friend". Usually the answer is a hard no, but sometimes they cut me a deal and for $300 I walk out of that con knowing I got a new friend. I'm really not very good at this comics thing.
  4. I have a non-SS TMNT signed by Laird and Eastman on the interior cover...to get a yellow label I assume I have to resubmit it for an Eastman signing. I'd prefer not to have it signed on the cover...can he just confirm it was his signature to a witness for a SS...or does he have to re-sign it? Also - how will it notated on the label since one is witnessed and the other not?
  5. Not sure yet...dm me if you're interested in any.
  6. Sadly I don't - it was part of a collection I picked up. Heres some more:
  7. Nice mail call today....TMNT 2 9.8 Double Signed (2nd Print)
  8. Just in...TMNT 1 (First print) + 2 NYCC Variants.
  9. Any idea what to even ask for something like this?
  10. Doing some research for an old friend...how would you value a Superman 1 thats missing a cover and the first 2 wraps, plus a couple separated and detached wraps. The centerfold is still attached. Bonus question - would you sell as-is, grade pages or wraps individually....or put a repro cover on and go for an NG?
  11. agreed - but you now have to pay for it...and of course since theres a billion slabs out there theres nothing to stop a scammer from using an old number. I don't think theres any way or retrofitting a solution.
  12. The only way to do it is to have a photo record as well. The fake books matched existing cgc registration numbers…the only way they caught the hulk 1 was there was a photo of it on the Heritage site and they were 2 different books.
  13. ok - heres some simple questions (please no rants...just yes or no): 1) Did you make or sell counterfeit comics (fake cgc or raw)? (Pretty sure this guy is the scammer or a unibomber)
  14. There’s a ton of those out there that never have been slabbed at all. Color touch was all the rage long before cgc. I’ve been the victim of that…as I’m sure many others have been. that’s a whole separate unrelated con.
  15. Yeah- not sure what kinda scam is slipping in something like that for free. But the ASM 1 is def an issue...as far as I know there was no mention of it in the video he posted when he originally bought the throws in collection. He also tried to trade the Cap 1 cover very quickly (didn't seem to want to sell it or send it to Heritage). It’s the sketchiest of the group.
  16. I've been talking to the owner of the Hulk 1 a bit...seems like theres 3 people in total who've bought from the same guy in person...and I think at least 6 books (plus some raws) involved - tho the one that stands out is the fake Cap 1 cover and the ASM 1 (same guy)... as I understand it he's the only one who hasn't filed a police report. The police have been dragging their feet with the Hulk 1. Starbucks has video of the exchange but will only release it to the police - who haven't done anything about it.
  17. This is what I don't get also...how does the ASM 1 fit into this? Unless I'm missing something, theres no mention of it in the small collection that included the Cap 1. Was it a separate buy from the same scammer?
  18. The top 3 are fake labels, the bottom is real. The first 2 are pretty obvious by looking at the surround on the grade box, but the ASM 1 is much closer to the real one tho the proportions and font are a bit different...I can't tell if the color or blown out gradation is accurate because it might be the photo, but they're close enough that you need to compare them to an online pic of the same book and grade to make sure its real...and maybe even find a pic of a book with the same serial number on Heritage if its expensive enough (thats how they caught the Hulk 1). Theres also fake 2nd gen labels that have similar issues with the grade box.
