  1. Thanks for your reply. The fold is only on the front cover.
  2. Hello and thanks for your help grading this book. I'm wondering how this corner fold affects the grade on this book?
  3. Thanks I never thought of that. Curious the spot is so neat and concentrated. Smooth to the touch. There's nothing there you can feel. And penetrates the whole book. I don't know enough about distributors ink to know if it would do that? Definitely not gravy or cola or anything like that.
  4. Thanks for your comments on this book I've been wondering about for years. I am unsure of the grade on a nice book like this because of a well defined spot that starts on FC and penetrates to each page and BC.
  5. Any thoughts on grade with the chew if the chew is determined to be a production issue?
  6. I think I see the 3dr staple in the picture. For some reason I can't increase the picture size for the image I posted to the CGC forum. An issue I need to solve... But I increased the original image on my desktop and it sure looks like there's 3 staples. Which would be the 2014 reprint. Thanks again for all the help.
  7. Thank you for your kind follow up and interest. Yes the 3 pictures are the actual copy. I asked for images of the centerfold and outer spine showing all staples as well as the whole page 3 to see if it's numbered. Given the significance and printing history of this issue, I'm thinking by now, there should be an authority, a website by some individual or organization with knowledge of facts we know about each original and each reprint. Good point about age of actual owner. The seller said he is a friend of the actual owner who asked for help selling. I am super skeptical as well.
  8. Thank you. So to recap, originals have 2 staples, black square. Some originals have page 3 numbered, some originals do not. Reprints have 3 staples, black rectangle or black square, and page 3 numbered.. So my picture has a black square. If it has 2 staples, would you say it's original? That seems to be very easy... Or is there another check to be made?
  9. Thank you for the Heritage reference where I can see the sales! The ebay link does not go to an valid ebay site with any info. The CGC string doesn't seem to give a definitive answer on 2 or 3 staples? Further in the CGC string says "The 2nd reprint has a square box very similar to the original." So I'm still wondering how to tell the difference between the reprint and well preserved original?
