  1. Added Peter Dinklage to my GoT books and both stayed 9.8. Thanks to @Kevlar!!! There's a CGC problem though.....one of the GoT books has so many signatures that the label didn't actually print all of the names. It's missing some recent signatures like Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinkage, Pedro Pascal and others (see close-up of back label). I looked up the certification # on the CGC website and while the listing has a few more signatures listed, it's still missing a bunch of names, including Clarke, Dinklage, Pascal. Is this a common issue and is it something that is fixable by CGC?
  2. @umyeahwhatevers Nice book. Perhaps the census is tracking the virgin edition using two separate entries......."virgin edition" as well as "retailer incentive edition". Either way, I stand corrected!
  3. Added Clarke to my GoT books. Thanks @Kevlar!!! For the GoT #1 Virgin Cover, it's showing up as the only 9.8 SS on census. Even as a 9.8 though and after getting cracked and graded so many times, I'm starting to notice a little wear on the book, so I think this will be my last sig and will quit while I'm ahead.
  4. Thanks to @Kevlar!!!! Since my last post, added Alfie Allen, Finn Jones, Gemma Whelan, Kit Harrington on the front cover. Back cover has Bella Ramsey, Jerome Flynn, Charles Dance, Pedro Pascal, Ben Crompton, Ian McEhinney, Gethin Anthony, Josef Altin, Rupert Vansittart

  9. Thanks for the responses everyone. I contacted CGC, sent them pics, and they're going to reholder the book for free.....I plan to ship next week. I'll post updates when I receive the new slab.
  10. I got a Batman #30 (New 52) signed by Capullo and Snyder at AwesomeCon and submitted it to CGC to get slabbed. I got it back yesterday and while it graded at a 9.8, I was disappointed by the sheer amount of Newton Rings (see pics). While I'm aware that the new cases are subject to Newton Rings and they don't damage the comic itself, I think this one case is particularly bad.....to the point where it distracts from the signature and comic. What do you guys think? I can understand if it's just a few minor spots here and there, but this is a little excessive.....
  11. Thanks for the response. I haven't seen other copies of the book.......the flake was coming apart when I got the comic, and completely fell off when I took the comic out of the bag.
  12. Hi, was wondering if you could estimate the grade of this comic for me. Specifically, there is a slight color flake on the spine (see pics) near the bottom staple, and I'm interested in your opinion on how serious this is. Thanks!
  13. I'm hoping to get some educated opinions on this......I recently came into possession of a Wolverine #1 (1982) CGC 9.6. The entire book looks pretty solid with the exception of a missing chip on the back cover, about 1/8" (see pics). What's your opinion on this flaw? Would also like your opinion on why CGC graded this at a 9.6......could it have happened during the encapsulation process? I haven't encountered missing corner chips that much, so I have a difficult time spotting which missing chips are acceptable vs. others. Most importantly, do you think this book stands a chance at staying 9.6 if it's re-graded? I was hoping to get this book signed and slabbed again at some point, but now am not so sure. This book was graded in January 2018 if that helps. Thanks!
  14. I echo everyone else's positive feedback. I posted a request for an ASM #700 skyline edition (CGC worthy copy) and Anthony came through with a great price. He shipped the book out ASAP and it arrived in excellent condition. Thanks!!!!
  15. Thanks for the responses! I agree with everyone that the first comic shouldn't be a 9.8.....I'm going to sell it in the near future, although it's unlikely I'll get a 9.8 price for it. I've only used CGC for grading (or bought CGC graded books), so definitely not cheerleading for the other companies
  16. Here is the second Batman #1 with the rounded corner on the left-hand side......again, would be interested to see if anyone else has seen 9.8's with these types of defects. I'm quickly realizing that not all 9.8's are created equal!
  17. I recently came into possession of two Batman #1 New 52's, both graded at CGC 9.8. I noticed that one comic has a color-breaking, hair-line stress mark on the spine. The other comic has a slighted blunted bottom-right corner that showing a little white. I've attached pictures of the first comic and the stress mark, and I'll post pictures of the second comic with the rounded corner in the next post. While I know that 9.8's are allowed to have 1 or 2 small defects, I'm wondering if these flaws are deal-breakers for you. Part of me is surprised that these two books received 9.8's......what's your opinion?
