  1. I'm going to try this again in a single post. I am looking to buy: 1) More Fun Comics 52 - a low grade copy (e.g., in the CGC 1.5 to 3.0) range, but must present well for the grade, meaning Spectre's face can't be obfuscated in any way, nor any big pieces missing, nor any names written on the cover (unless it's Siegel's or Baily's signature), etc. Page quality no worse than Cream to Off-White. Willing to consider higher than 3.0 copies, but seller must be realistic with his/her asking price. Willing to pay up to $10,000 per point for a copy; perhaps even more, if it's an exceptional copy for the assigned grade. 2) Amazing Fantasy 15 (AF15) - looking for a copy in the CGC 3.0 to 3.5 range. Must have no worse than Off-White to White pages, nor any chipping, nor any writing, nor any creasing through Spiderman, etc. Willing to pay up to $4,500 per point. Yes, that means I will pay up to $13,500 and $15,750 for a nearly perfect 3.0 and 3.5, respectively. Willing to consider higher graded copies, but seller must be realistic with his/her asking price (because, frankly, higher graded copies are harder to sell on an already expensive book). This is not a rare book, so I can be picky. 3) Daring Mystery Comics 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 - looking for an almost complete run of Daring Mystery Comics. Preferably each book is in the CGC 4.0 to 4.5 range, but must present well for the grade, meaning no big writing on the cover, nor any big pieces missing, nor any names written on the cover (unless it's the author's signature), etc. Page quality no worse than Cream to Off-White. Willing to consider copies graded higher or lower. Willing to pay up to $1,000 per point for number 1, and less for the others, but no less than $200 per point for each book other than number 1. Would go higher for the right copies. 4) Smash Comics 1 - looking for a mid-grade copy in the CGC 5.0 to 6.0 range. Must present well for the grade, meaning no big writing on the cover, nor any big pieces missing, nor any names written on the cover (unless it's the author's signature), etc. Page quality no worse than Cream to Off-White. Willing to consider copies graded higher or lower. Willing to pay up to $400 per point -- perhaps more if it's an exceptional copy. I think it's 100% a buyer's market, which is why I'm offering these prices on the foregoing books. I am looking to spend money, and buy books, which is why I posted on the "Want To Buy!" Section of these boards. I am not looking to be educated on what GPA is for a certain book that I seek, nor debate the absurdity of my opinion about the market's poor condition, nor hear about how robust the business is at your store that sells $1 books. If you want to insult my post or what I'm willing to pay for a book, please save your opinion for someone who cares. Or even better, sell me the books, take my money and laugh to the bank. Cash ready, and hassle-free buyer here. Please reach out to me with any offers at @fattydaddycomics on Instagram. I am triple-A rated on Instagram by @elite_comics11, the most trusted social media seller in the world, and identified on @elite_comics11's "Trusted" list. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
  2. The market's collapsing for the same reason as the subprime crisis: too much borrowed money fueled a bubble, and now it's unwinding. People buying comics on credit cards, layaway plans, etc. -- everyone's a dealer -- all thinking they could flip the books anytime for more than they paid. That only works in a rising market. Once the comic prices stopped rising, the speculators and fast money shifted into video games, further depressing the comic prices. And the remaining buyers only want to cherry pick the cream of the crop - good page quality, no chipping, no writing, etc. It's simply not enough to just own a coveted key anymore (with the exception of certain grails, like Tec 27 and Action 1), the book has to be nearly perfect. This is due to some OCD fool that started nit picking wrap centering, page quality, chipping and other previously irrelevant attributes. That terrible trend caught on like fire, and now all the remaining buyers only want the best. Collectors like me, that used to be happy just owning a book, are now forced to seek out the best, not because we're looking to sell or really care that there's a chip in a book, but because if you ever want/need to sell it, only the perfect copies sell for full value. For example, look at all the orphaned copies of AF15 on eBay that will never catch a bid. Some are beautiful, but because their page quality is cream or they have chipping, they are pariah. Not a good combination.
  3. I have a TMNT # 1, first print, CGC 8.5, with White pages for sale. $8,250 Firm. FYI - you can see my page on @fattydaddycomics on Instagram. I am triple-A rated by @elite_comics11 on Instagram, the most trusted social media seller in the world, and listed on @elite_comics11's "Trusted list. Hassle free seller here. Please let me know if either of you are interested in the book. Thanks!
  4. Nice. I figured they would try to sell it again after some time. It's a pretty book, even in hand.
  5. That's a nice copy. I'm also surprised that it fits in a regular holder. Must be perfectly wrapped, otherwise it would definitely be slabbed in a magazine-sized holder!
  6. Unfortunately, the book was slightly restored (color-touched on the spine), so I returned it. Truly disappointing - but I did confirm that it was a genuine copy!
  7. Thanks for the compliment on, and show of support for, my Cerebus #1 being the real deal! As I mentioned in an earlier post, I will share the CGC results with this group once the comic gets graded! Stay tuned.
  8. Thanks! Along with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1, it was THE GRAIL to own when I was a kid in the 80's and impossible to find (pre-Internet days). I'm delighted to finally own a copy -- especially one that is not so shabby! I'll share the results once CGC grades it!
  9. It's absolutely real. I bought it. Irrespective of any shill bidding, opportunities to buy this book in this condition are rare, and luck favors the prepared.
  10. Hi, all. I am willing to pay up to $11,000 per point for the More Fun 52 (depending on the appearance of the copy offered). If you'd prefer, I'd also be willing to trade for it, or trade plus cash. A potential trade candidate is a Fantastic Four 1 CGC 5.0 (or trade plus cash, to the extent required). I also have other potential trade candidates on my Instagram page @fattydaddycomics - depending on the copy of MF52 that is being offered. Many thanks!
  11. Thanks for the heads-up about that copy! I actually know about it, since it's also being offered on ebay. It's nice, but the cover has been cleaned. I would rather buy a restored copy from which the restoration can be removed, than a cleaned copy. Cleaning can't ever be undone. Thanks again!
  12. Hi, all. I am looking to buy a low grade copy of More Fun Comics 52, in the CGC 1.0 to 3.5 range. I am open to purchasing a raw copy, as long as the book hasn't been restored. Please reach out to me should you have one to sell. Much appreciated! Follow-up offer: I am willing to pay up to $11,000 per point for the More Fun 52 (depending on the appearance of the copy offered). If you'd prefer, I'd also be willing to trade for it, or trade plus cash. A potential trade candidate is a Fantastic Four 1 CGC 5.0 (or trade plus cash, to the extent required).
