  1. Thanks! What's funny is that this is the only issue of Godzilla I've ever owned, although I owned the big Godzilla Mattel figure from the 70's. Anyone remember those? I wish I still had it as well!
  2. Thanks! When I rediscovered this in my collection back in March, it still had a sticker on the bag from when I bought it used back in the 80's - 90 cents! I'd say that was a good investment.
  3. UPDATE: For anyone who's interested, I pressed this Godzilla and submitted it a few weeks ago to CGC for grading. I just looked at my submission, at it has received a grade of 9.4. Woohoo! There have only been 3 other 9.4s, and only one 9.6 (none above that). I am so excited!
  4. No, this newbie has not disappeared, and I apologize if I did not research prior posts enough before asking. I asked an innocuous question regarding grading since I am new to the process, and did not intend to insult CCS or CGC. However, being a business professor, I do agree with Ryan regarding healthy competition and the fact that discussion among customers can provide businesses with valuable information they can use to improve customer service as needed. That being said, I had no intention of inciting impolite discussion or arguments. I have had a couple of members send me private messages with recommendations, and I will leave it at that. I do appreciate all of the help and the opportunity to ask questions in CGC's forums.
  5. Thanks Pirate. That is what I am trying to do by asking other collectors about their experiences.
  6. Does most everyone use CCS for pressing or is there someone else that you like to use? I know there are other services listed on the internet that will press comics and then send them in to CGC. I've never used any of them, however.
  7. Who did you have press it for you? Great looking comics, by the way!
  8. Thanks for the help! When getting comics graded, do you usually go ahead and get them pressed as a general rule just to be certain to get the best grade possible? I know it really doesn't add that much to the cost of the grading. Also, did you just have CGC do the pressing or is there someone else you like to use?
  9. Here's my last one for the day - Black Lightning #1. Note the green ink at the upper right corner of the cover, which looks like a ink mistake from the original printing. How do you think that will affect the grade? If I'm posting too many pics of each comic please let me know. Thanks again!
  10. Here's another comic I found after 30 years in my closet. Any help will be appreciated! Thank you.
  11. Hello everyone! I'm just getting back into my comics after letting them sit for about 30 years (bagged in boxes), and I rediscovered my copy of Godzilla #1 that I'm thinking about sending in to get graded. What do you think? There is a slight crease on the upper back cover (see next to last pic); do you think pressing would help remove it? I'm new to this forum, so thanks to everyone in advance for your help!
