New Tax Reporting ($600 Threshold per year) and Consignments

Yes, that was what I meant. If I buy a book that has sales tax, I pay the sales tax because I'm not a registered business. -

I think most people here are hobbyists and don't deduct expenses. It's more simple if you are not taking deductions. Of course it also might cost you more money...but it used to be that unless you declared a profit every few years, you were determined to be a hobbyist anyway. Not sure if that applies to everything, I know it applied to owning 10% of a very slow racehorse many years ago;) -

I sent a group of books last fall, every time one sells I actually get a check within days...and people really answer the phone and talk. -

Is there a link to the video? I'd love to see it, but not quite sure how to find it.

A discussion that took place eons ago...between 2 people here. It really had nothing to do with compasses, although I was also a little baffled by the term at the time.

Absolutely...my aim every time is not to win, but to be in the top 50% . I keep saying, it's guess the CGC grade, not what you would grade it. When I grade something for myself I always go to the lower grade if I'm split between two. Makes less trauma for me in case I want to sell it later on...and I'm not disappointed if it goes for a little less. Here, I'm bumping everything...some I bump a little too much and some I just can't figure out WHY it's so high...like the 9.2 last round that I had as a 7.5. I stretched that one from a 7.0 lol...;) I find if I do well on one or two rounds ...I probably won't on the next few...I just like listening to the chatter...I learned something the other day. I had NO idea they bumped Pedigree books...so I bumped the one this round and I think I was still a little too low.

Only nice thing about this thread is...it was really nice to see you Chris @comix4fun and a few others I have not seen in a while. It's certainly not the first scandal for the company...but a few too many at once, for sure.

I still find the glare confusing. I had 3 bullseyes, and was off by one on the first book, but the Iron Man...I KNEW the white was glare, but I was seeing issues with the lower staple because of the white and since spine lines were mentioned and I couldn't see them, I lowered the grade a lot for both those issues. There are less glare lines lately, so there is an improvement, but I'm lost when I see the white lines, I mess up every time. Many other people seem to be OK with it...I guess. I'm not unhappy with the 5 points...I'm thrilled to be in the top half with so many great graders playing, but I wish they would do less very dark books, or fix the glare issue.
