  1. So in the case of the TMNT piece you have 3 artist signing off on it (Kirby, Eastman, Thibodeaux). Would be hard to imagine that he didn't work on it...right?
  2. This is Fantastic! I was under the impression that his work began to suffer in the late 80's, but this being 92' shows that he was as impressive as ever.
  3. The Thing sitting on a toilet with a sign hanging on the wall that said "Patience is a Virtue Mr Grimm".
  4. So much Kirby! When people doubt his place on the top artist of all time it's images like this that I pull up. Just in a class by himself.
  5. You can’t just post that and leave us hanging.... I would love to see some of the Tim Vigil commissions from the 90s where he would “add on” to any character he was tired of drawing.
  6. What was interesting about this situation was the supposed “Big Bad Byrne” heard about this and offered up a commission at no charge.
  7. Passed by it at an old downtown shop. I mean come one....can’t pass it up. Anyone know what the signature might be? Perhaps just the owner?
  8. This thread is beating a dead horse so I will close it out with this. I’m glad and grateful for this community. It has really helped me navigate this new passion and hobby. Learn something every week and this week was no different. Nice to hear different prospectives. And the main reason I didn’t provide his name was because I wasn’t sure if I was in the right or wrong. My concern was not being able to move pass the interaction and still appreciate his work. That’s just silly, Pearl Jam is my favorite band and they really don’t understand how politics work. I guess I can look pass this interaction and learn from it.
  9. He called me high maintenance and was curt with me. I have feelings, I’m not a vending machine. That was my main issue. Not the refusal to jump on the phone. And to be clear my exact words were would it be ok to jump on a call? And no I didn’t say that....I went straight for the “Well I slept with your wife!”.
  10. Neal Grell Marat Hoffman Nord Saviuk Lieber Lopresti Johhny Desjardins Stroman Freddie Williams Byrne Have all been solid dudes that I enjoy interacting with.
  11. As mentioned earlier Stroman does this now and he seems to be doing well with it. I think commissions were piling up on him for a time and he needed to try a different approach.
  12. The thing is his art is not "Great", he just has a way with pencils that's unique to him. Plus he is a great guy who loves his fans! Here is a simple Ghost Rider I just got.
  13. While we are throwing out plugs Cary Nord is taking commissions for the next week and he is a STUD.
  14. You son of a gun I thought we were bros! That's the last 5% discount I give you!
  15. I get that...but if I'm handing over $700 and the participant is not fully understanding what I am looking for i'd rather clear it up before he gets started. It was one of his covers and I was asking for several modifications that would make it special to me....without those changes it would not be what I was going for. Again...probably a blessing for both of us but a quick phone call and he would have money in his pocket.
  16. I will say...buying someone else's commission that they fall out of love with is a win/win. Much cheaper and you see the end result ahead of time.
  17. I tell you, Marat Mychaels is one of the coolest dudes around. Some may see his Do You Pooh series and scoff but as a ying to the yang of the negative interaction with an artist thread, Marat was such a solid guy that I bought a cover just because of the interaction. I give you "Do You Pooh" The Major X parody cover.
