  1. I recently discovered two Heritage listings for original art similar to the French pages discussed. This time, the art comes from Italy via Argentina, also circa 1940. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/miscellaneous/el-tony-el-vampiro-y-robert-batman-and-robin-sunday-comic-strip-production-art-editorial-columba-c-1940-/a/121529-13022.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Inventory-BuyNowFromOwner-ThisAuction-120115 and https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/miscellaneous/el-tony-el-vampiro-y-robert-batman-and-robin-sunday-comic-strip-production-art-editorial-columba-c-1940-/a/121529-13021.s The "Sunday pages" sold for peanuts in 2015. They use stat images of Batman from the American comics (rare in their own right) with line extensions by a guy called "El Tony". Even though it is very similar, these are unlike the French pages because the batman drawings are paste-ups. I'm not sure when in 1940, but I know that it is sometime after April (first app of Robin). That gives 5 months difference for this to predate the Le Justicier Pages. As said, it's not really OA.
  2. I am interested in buying Ray Moore original artwork. Ray Moore worked on the Phantom (comic strip) from 1936-1946. I would appreciate you contacting me through this forum. I'm both interested in buying daily strips and Sunday strips. I'm fully aware of the prices realised for this artist. Send me a message if you are interested in selling a Ray Moore artwork.
  3. I'll look into this, this seems like a good option. Thanks
  4. I have a question about UV protection regarding framing original art. I've already put some OA pages in frames with regular glass. I'm thinking about their longevity, and I'd like to protect them against UV rays, as there may be some exposure to UV rays over time where I've got them. I'm doing this on a budget so I can buy more OA. After doing some research, I have a couple of options, ranked in order of price: Replace the glass with UV Clear or Museum glass (https://tru-vue.com/solution/museum-glass/) Find a plastic sheet with UV protection rating (acrylic, polycarbonate, etc) and place this in front of the glass Use some wacky UV-Resistance spray on the glass (https://www.krylon.com/products/uvresistant-clear-coating) ( The glass replacement could be a nightmare, the UV-proof plastic may be difficult to source/hinder viewing and the UV spray may not work at all. Which would potentially work and be the most cost-effective? Does anyone have any other ideas about fixing this problem?
  5. These are Skottie Young pieces, right? I saw a bunch of these for sale the other day. http://www.felixcomicart.com/artistgallerytitles.asp?artistid=586
  6. Doing my rounds on Comicarttracker, which came up with an apparent Charles Schulz peanuts drawing on ebay.it for a mere 150 euros. Advertised with a COA, but it's obviously invalid. The address given for the certification agency is actually a NY Hilton Hotel, and the company doesn't exist. I guess the signature looks good enough to the eye, but it's way too cheap to be real. https://www.ebay.it/itm/Disegno-Snoopy-firmato-in-ottime-condizioni-Peanuts-Charlie-Brown-Linus/123154064980?hash=item1cac8de654:g:1Y4AAOSw28pa83IK The same guy happens to have sold other "original drawings' with similar COAs claimed to be drawings from Carl Barks and Bill Hanna (Flintstones). I feel sorry for the sucker that's going to buy this.
  7. Sweet. These coupons don’t work outside the US, do they? Wait- answered my own question. Thanks
  8. Thinking of getting my hands on some Todd McFarlane sketches. How much do you think his signature is worth? I remember reading about similar discussions elsewhere on the forums, where it was discussed that he doesn't sign often. If I wanted one, how much should I pay? What is it worth?
  9. Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely use your method.
  10. Congrats on this piece, MGS. Wish I had original art from that series. Loved it since the day I first read Hunter. Cooke's noir art is truly amazing stuff.
  11. Thanks. Yep, I got in touch with his relative David Barry, and he's given a bunch of prices. He drew the phantom for 30 years and it looks like he's got stacks of art left. Is anyone else apart from Sy Barry selling off Phantom Art?
  12. Hey all, I'm interested in buying comic strip art from the Phantom (Ghost who Walks) newspaper line. Anything from 1936-1999. I'm particularly after art from Ray Moore and Wilson McCoy, but I will make offers for Sy Barry and George Olesen/Keith Williams art as well. If you have any strips for sale contact me on the forums, where we can discuss pricing and a safe transaction method. Cheers
  13. It was a very good suggestion, hope you don't mind me using it.
  14. This page from Batman #1 (1939) would reach a million if sold at the appropriate auction house. I mean c'mon! No batman though, that's another story.
  15. Just found out the cover to detective comics #28 OA exists also. No Batman, though.
