  1. Eventually (hopefully for buyers, anyway) prices will level off and go down for Garfield art, as collectors buy what they want. You just had the "bad" luck of your perfect date coming early in the auctions. That being said, it being the "perfect" date to get, I would still go for it, because every year afterwards on your anniversary you'll think about "the one that got away". I'm keeping an eye out for Garfield strips published on my birthdate. Haven't seen any yet, but I figure they'll hit someday.
  2. I agree, I've never seen published Concrete pages, but he sold specialty sketches for a number of years, and they turn up for resale from time to time. Here is one I purchased from Paul of Concrete admiring an Alphonse Mucha painting, that I purchased for an Art Nouveau themed sketch collection I have.
  3. Ending today on eBay is a splash page from "The Lost", the all vampire retelling of the Peter Pan story, featuring Peter and Tink. Check it out here... http://www.ebay.com/itm/122378057749 Dave
  4. Some no reserve auctions up on eBay, a Jim Starlin written, Tom Raney/Keith Williams Warlock Chronicles page, and a sexy Armando Huerta sketch of Alice in Wonderland. Check out the auctions here... http://www.ebay.com/sch/fiawol/m.html Dave M.
  5. Just had a "retro" art day, and scanned artwork that I picked up at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con that didn't get scanned that year (for various reasons). Some nice things I think, art by Wendy Pini, Stan Sakai, Jack Davis, Doug Sneyd, Adam Warren and more! Check it out here... http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=118250 Dave M.
  6. First post to the new board location! Checking here to see if anyone may have seen (or have) something like this. I've rediscovered a guilty pleasure I watched as a child, an oddball Hanna/Barbera live action/animation show called "The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". In it, Injun Joe (played by Ted Cassidy, AKA Lurch from the Addams Family) chases live action versions of Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn and Becky Thatcher into a cave, and they get lost in various animated worlds (each one having a different version of Injun Joe as a villain) while trying to get home to Hannibal, Missouri. Heritage had 2 Alex Toth model sheet drawings from the show go up for sale in 2015, but whoever won them isn't signed up with their "make an offer to owner" program, so Heritage can't forward any messages. Here's what they looked like, along with a few production cels I bought myself almost 20 years ago. Anyone ever seen this show before, or seen any artwork from it? Let me know! Dave M.
  7. I'm just a "free" member, so it looks like I'll just have to keep waiting until they show up. Thanks for letting me know you submitted at the same time, and are still waiting for them as well, that reassures me that it's not sitting lost in the system someplace. Patience is a virue! (an in-joke for Michael Golden art collectors) Dave
  8. For items dropped off at conventions, where do you go to check on "Received" and "Verified" statuses? I'm a (near) complete newb, and I'd like to check on the status of a comic I dropped off at San Diego Con on July 20th. Any links, or guestimates on when I would get a (standard modern) comic returned appreciated. Dave
