I don't think PBs as a collectible class will catch fire in the same way magazines and pulps have. I think the economics are not there yet for PBs, as there are not a lot of run collectors and completists who are continually buying up PB inventory. The rare book market (PB and HB) will always have its deep-pocket collectors just like any exclusive collectible class, but even increasing demand for rare / scare books will not create a similar trend for more common books. On the other hand, the dealer/seller margins on PBs are relatively large (as a percentage) compared to comics and other well-established collectibles, so the incentive is certainly there to promote the PB market. It would likely require a well-coordinated and sustained marketing/PR push by a large, well-financed organization(s) to create new demand (people new to collecting) and drive cross-over demand (comic, magazine, pulp, document and newsprint collectors).
Here are a couple of my favorite uncommon Archer/Heade keepers:

Lovers #47 - 1 on census
Love Journal #25 - 1 on census
Love Diary #39 - 0 on census
Tender Romance #1 - 4 on census
Ideal Romance #7 - 1 on census
youthful romances 7 - 2 on census
In Love #1 (Kirby!) - 7 on census

EC Reprint Lot of 67 Issues (Weird Science, Tales From the Crypt and ShockSuspenstories). From the 1992 Gemstone reprints, this Lot has Tales From the Crypt 1-30 (missing #19), Weird Science 1-22 (also missing #19… hmmm) and Shock SuspenStories 1-17 (Hah! Never reached #19!). They’re only 30 years old so books are really crisp, with sharp corners, minimal spine ticks, great cover gloss and mostly W pages, easily VFN+ and better, so I’ll grade them as OW/W FN+. Asking 120.00 shipped.

The Lurker at the Threshold August Derleth, H. P. Lovecraft Beagle Books / Ballantine (The Arkham Edition of H. P. Lovecraft #4) 95058 2nd Print June 1973 $10
Gino D'Achille cover art on this early UK pb edition.
Fine. Square tight and glossy, has a stain at the bottom back spine but overall a pretty nice looking copy

The Survivor and Others by H.P. Lovecraft and August Derleth Ballantine 021487 1971 1st Black cover printing with Gervasio Gallardo cover art. These were the editions that really took Lovecraft off in American Pop culture.
Fine/Fine plus - Square tight and glossy. Light reader crease and a bit of storage wear. The blue in the bottom photos is glare. These are really hard to photograph because they are so glossy and reflective. $15

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. The image you posted from the WC website was the one that sold at WC.
What I meant was that the Heritage copy was not the one that sold at WC.
Thanks for the clarification, that makes a lot more sense!
I actually went and looked at a couple items I won at the windy city auction and compared them to the images on the website to make sure I wasn't confused.

ENOCH BOLLES ....and other fine Pin-Up art
in Pulp Magazines

For deep-pocketed Bolles fans, there are a couple of his original paintings for sale in the April Heritage Illustration Art Auction. There are many jaw dropping pieces (and prices) from other iconic artists in the same auction:
