  1. Well as of today my experience with Hero Restoration has come to as happy an end as I could have hoped for given the circumstances. I submitted an Ultimate Fallout 4 Djurj… drj… Variant Edition a long time back for the 4 Week express turnaround. I had pretty much written the book off as a loss but was shocked when after 10 months it showed up in the mail. I had sent it in to be graded and just received it back today- was expecting a 9.2- - 9.4 on it but as a reward for everything Mike put us through CGC gifted me a 9.6! Now, I suspect not being able to fulfill the companies promise of a 4 Week turnaround which I paid $120 for cost me possibly thousands of dollars in value on this given the books downward trajectory as of late I’m still thrilled to just have it back in hand with an incredible grade knowing I’ll still make money off it. I’m a Golden Age collector so this book was strictly meant as a flip towards my goal of either a Chamber of Chills 19 or a Terrific 5. Best of luck to anyone who’s still working through their issues with this dumpster fire.
  2. This is CGC shooting themselves in the foot. Collectors need to be incredibly vocal about this and let CGC know this isn’t something anyone wants. Email them, post your thoughts on it, anything to make them reconsider such a stupid decision. If it’s a great idea then have these “prominent collectors” put their names behind it. I’ll bet you none of them will.
  3. I really appreciate the contributions everyone has made to this thread over the years. It's been a fascinating read. I've only been seriously collecting comics for a few years, and it's only been this past year that I've decided to focus my own collection on Golden Age books. I collect comics because I enjoy their history and how they can reflect the changes our country has undergone over the decades and can provide an immersive experience into what life was like during different periods. The Promise Collection just recently turned me on to pedigrees and how these books can connect you further not to just a time period but to an individual who collected as these major events were taking place. Of course I wish I had started collecting just a bit earlier as it looks like now there is a ton of interest from buyers with deep pockets on these, but I'd love to add one to my collection some day and I'll be keeping my eye out. Enjoy the hunt everyone!
  4. Surprised that Fight 27 is still there- that’s a great book and only pops up once in a while. I’d buy it myself if I didn’t just buy one a couple months ago!
  5. As a scientist, those Captain Science books always make me feel as though my job could be way more interesting.
  6. It's the standard cover with the Avengers in the background, but his head is showing whereas in the 1'st printing his head is hidden behind the book title
  7. Hey there- I'm selling off some of my lower value books in hopes of consolidating my collection upwards with fewer, but higher value books. Space in my collection is nearly maxed out. Since I expect interest to be relatively low I didn't kill myself scanning them all in, but if there's a book you'd like to buy I'll scan and post it so you know what you're getting before I send it. Some of these variant editions and multiple printings get confusing so I don't want to waste anyone's time with returns. Shipping is $15 for any number of books within the US. They will ship bubble wrapped and in 2 boxes USPS Priority Mail. If you need them shipped internationally I'll have to quote you on shipping depending on the number of books you'd like, but I am willing to ship internationally and will only charge you the actual shipping cost. No trades at this time. Thanks! 8. Really enjoyed this contest! Had a blast playing it and it definitely helped me realize what kind of flaws I can get away with I might have overlooked. I'll take- Prize #69: 2-book lot: Sandman #1 (1974), Stalker #1 (1975) - donated by HeyMoe Thank you!
  9. Well I told myself no more thinking, so Grades In! And I really hope I don't blow it this round because this will be my last round for a while on a real computer. I leave for vacation on Wednesday, so from Wed-Mon I'll be operating on no sleep with only a cell phone to work with during the late hours of the night. May the odds be ever in my favor.
  10. Couldn't tell ya. I just bought it thinking it would be an easy flip for a profit. Thankfully I'm not that stupid all the time and my successes still outweigh my massive failures.
