Comics I loved as a kid I want to read again.
I am sure that we all have our first comic story. when i was a kid I remember the comics on the wire rack and my Grandmother would let me pick one every now and then to read: G.I. Combat, Ghost, House of Mystery. Lately I have been feeling nostalgic. I want to read the old books. Times may have changed but for some reason those old stories and art still grab me.
Seems like they must be grabbing a lot of us again. Tried to find a few on eBay and the prices seem to be going up. Of course, a reprint wont do. I want the original.
As many of us seem to say later in life; If only I knew then, what I know now. Maybe it is just an escape now, to remember the excitement and joy of getting my book home and thumbing through it a thousand times. Picking up and reading one of those books reminds me of that joy I felt all those years ago. Reading was truly an escape. It sure did not take much to make me happy then. A book here, a book there, and i was in heaven.
