  1. Another great addition to my comic registry!! I am happy to report I just won a great CGC graded 9.6 Batman: Year One Part 2 by Frank Miller on ebay. I should be getting the comic next week sometime and am looking forward to adding it to the registry. I think parts 2 and 3 feature the best cover artwork ever seen on a comic, and the story line is fantastic throughout as well. I am very excited to have obtained this great addition, and look forward to adding parts 3 and 4 as well. See you all at "The Dark Knight" in IMAX next week!!
  2. Actually, Frank Millers' Batman is...but, you knew what I meant!! Well, with the new Batman movie on it's way to theaters (The Dark Knight) and with pre-release reviews near the top of the hysteria chart ( there's no hysteria chart? there should be!!) I have been in a deep re-read of the "Year One" series by Frank Miller, and even after all these years, the stories and artwork are simply timeless. I have also been re-reading Millers' "Dark Night" series, and am awed by everything about his treatment of the Batman stories. I am glad thatr Miller was born in my time, and has treated the stories and characters with such an edge, without Miller, we may have never been treated to such great movies based (sometimes very loosley) on his work. Always a Frank Miller fan!!
  3. Branching out from coins to one of my 1st collecting passions Greetings! My path on collecting is a diverse one and an ecclectic one. The first collections I ever had was that of baseball cards, Topps, Fleer and Donruss. I also enjoyed sending cards off to the stars of the time for autographs, and this started my love and passion for collecting. As I have mentioned before in my journals here, my card collecting led to comic books, namely Batman and especially Frank Millers' treatment of Batman. The stories and artwork of the "Year One" series and "The Dark Knight" series were downright exceptional and I could lose myself in the stories and aesthetics very quickly, and read them all over and over. So, today, I decided to "branch out" or rather "branch back" to one of my 1st passions and I put a bid on a CGC graded Dark Knight comic book. I hope I win it. I'll know in 4 days. It will be a nice addition to my registry, the FIRST addition to my CGC registry here. Thanks for reading, and good luck!!
