  1. Pretty sure this is from the 176-180 run that I just read... can't remember exactly which issue... not 176 though... 177?
  2. This character stuck in my mind for decades!! There's so much left to tell!!
  3. I have no idea, but that scan makes me think of animation cels...
  4. The 48 showed up a little bit ago... nice to finally get this hole filled back in. Always bugged me!
  5. I agree about Gladiator! My #18 is pretty beat, but I just haven't found the right copy to upgrade yet... I did just pick up a pretty nice copy of #6 this week though! Thought I was going to try to stick to 9.2's for #'s 2-6, but this one seemed like a decent price...
  6. Nice little bit of trivia! That 176-180 set was a great read - thanks for the suggestion! I definitely did not realize what the twist was going to be at the end of 179... I do miss storytelling like that. Here's my set that just came today...
  7. I do the same... if like having the Pedigrees slabbed even though doing so lately has really shaking my faith in the accuracy of CGC Pedigree labels... Regardless, *thumbs up* to this one! No regrets!
  8. I don't know what I missed. Metropolis had this graded as 9.4 when I bought it, and I figured I'd get at least 9.0 as a place-holder until I could upgrade... "moderate tanning on interior front cover spine stress lines breaks color" *sad trombone*
  9. The rest of the Comico Grendel set... The #1 is signed on the first page... all at whatever HeroesCon that was! I have them all around VF (ignoring that marker someone slapped on the cover!)
  10. nice job! ASM 151, indeed. And yep, she doesn't like tuna fish! Eat it or... you're fired!
  11. This is super nice... I have a copy in Sarasota right now that I'm dreading... Really nice on the outside, and I bought it as 9.4 only to find a 3/4" tear on the interior. The 5 seems like the more difficult copy than than the 2, really... this is very nice. I feel like spine bends actually show up better on this gold than the black... so... again... awesome.
  12. good vibes coming your way! Let's pay the luck forward
  13. I can't remember if I joined this club or not... Picked up this copy from a local Con in the early 00's (I think)... Got it signed by Matt (along with Grendel 1-3) at HeroesCon in... '08? I think... but did not, obviously, go for the SS. I never would have expected this to come back 9.8... pretty happy and also pretty annoyed with myself. C'est la vie. It's not leaving my house anyway
  14. Never mind the waiting... WW Comics had them all in grade... should get to dig into these in a week or so!
  15. I picked up the bookends to my 151... what's a good stopping point for this storyline so I can pick the rest up before I start reading? (Next I need a 121, and *then* I'll dive into that GG storyline from 176!)
  16. Nice. I've got a full run raw (except for the #1)... I sold my raw copy 5.0-ish on the boards a good number of years ago for next-to-nothing. Oops. Upgraded now though!
  17. thanks for the reply! I was thinking it may have been a humidity issue... but I don't think it's on my end. I also have a bunch of products that I bought directly from E Gerber, but I *only* notice this on books that I received from DCBS and left in the bags in which they arrived. I do have a dehumidifier in my comics room set to 45, but the thing rarely (if ever) even turns on. I didn't notice the issue when I first received the books, as you noted, but only as I'm pulling them out again a while later. I'll see if I can figure out some way to test when my next shipment shows up in a week or two and see what happens... Thanks again
  18. I've been way behind scanning my moderns and have been working on it for the last couple of days... I'm finding a very large number of books that look like this on the back with the color bled onto the backing boards. Anyone else have this problem in general? Or, more specifically, with the 24 mil Half Backs that are provided by DCBS? I was kind of thinking that the boards just may have been flipped over, so I've been flipping them back, but... A lot of these are <2 years in the bag/board... seems strange... :-/
  19. Oh, wow. I had no idea that was still my signature! I think I actually completed most of that! I was gonna pick those up this morning but didn't see a complete set I liked! *eyes open*
  20. Which always seemed strange to me growing up... I always wanted the version without the barcode, as I guess most kids did, which maybe helps with the rarity today...? Definitely not a stupid question... welcome to collecting!
  21. That looks like a really fun run to read... need to keep those in mind!
  22. I just made that exact decision... went with 9.2 OWW vs 9.0W (raw books, but still...)
  23. Raw... it's this guy right here... Might grade it after I read it depending how it looks in person. https://www.wwcomics.com/comicdetail.asp?product_id=AMAZINGSPIDER-MAN_151_89819
