Large chunk missing from the corner
lowgradecomics replied to kagemusha7s's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Hey, Semper Fi is a great seller, (have done a few deals with him, look him up on IG).. I remember seeing his post about this a while ago, when he got them the box was damaged on the way to him with like a dozen slabs all cracked at the bottom. It doesn't effect the book, but generally sellers offer discounts to make up the cost of getting it reslabbed… -
I’ve never really considered buying restored books (hard to move in a funds emergency)... but damn these are tempting! 😍

Yeah, 1900-2000 seems to be the average, have seen a couple 9.8s go for a bit less in FB groups. I just think it’s a bad time for this book tbh, the comic series ended, and the TV show is pretty much over (i hear anyway, I stopped watching it years ago)... I think it will need another shot in the arm to maintain this price level, let alone pump it up anymore in value... will be interesting to see what happens with this franchise. Good luck with your sale!

.. and here I thought I just initially misread the title

What is the current time from receiving he books before they are even processed into the system? CGC received some pretty high value books from me (standard grading tier) nearly two weeks ago and they haven’t even been logged in as ‘received’ yet... normally I see this taking around 5 business days, but starting to get concerned.. 🙁

Not nearly as nice as some of the copies in this thread.. but with all the hype focused on GSX1, I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get into the club with its bigger brother. Have been eyeing this book for a while, and wanted to make sure I got it before it gets out of reach like so many other silver age key first issues. Of all of them I think this is the most undervalued, and thus has enormous potential... and even if that never happens, still happy to have it. 😂

I’ve been on the fence for WWBN 32 for a couple of decades now, lol. I almost bought a few copies in the 90s, but ended up going elsewhere with the collection (hindsight, eh?)... but better late to the club than never getting in, finally happy to be able to put one in the safe..

Giant-Size X-Men #1 - get it now?
lowgradecomics replied to Getoutandstayout's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
That's what I said... this explosion began with the low/mid grades, it wasn't until they started jumping that the 9+'s started moving upwards, and the 9.8 is still pretty steady.. Books generally explode from the top and work their way down, so this GSX craze just seems strange to me. (the way the rise began is crazy, not that the book is finally getting some love)- 283 replies

Giant-Size X-Men #1 - get it now?
lowgradecomics replied to Getoutandstayout's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
People are in FOMO mode right now which is driving crazy prices... Odd that the 9.8 hasn't really fluctuated much, when 181 skyrocketed it began with the 9.8 which caused others to have to buy the best copy they could afford, so slowly the price jump filtered down to the mid and low grades... This GSX craze seems be the opposite, seems to have started with the low/mid grade affordable copies which have slowly bumped up the 9s... Just based off what I've seen, sellers are creating the hype (it started a few months ago), and I'd agree the pack mentality and FOMO took over. But with all that being said, this has been a very undervalued book for a long time, so glad to see it finally getting some love. I don't think it'll reach Hulk 181 levels, none of the introduced characters in the book have the following Wolverine has, can a one decent character (storm), a few subpar characters (all the other ones) but the beginning of the new X-Men era compete with wolverine? Will be interesting to see what happens- 283 replies

PGM TMNT #1 (3rd)
lowgradecomics replied to alexanderjk's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Concur with the 3.0... a press could get rid of that little spine roll and straighten a few things out to make it look like a nicer 3.0, but still a 3.0. -
