  1. This might be a question for CGC themselves but thought I'd check the boards first. I just submitted my first prescreen. I thought typical submissions I use to see charges come through once grading had been completed but I might be wrong on that. However I just saw a charge for the prescreening I sent in and the books were only received a week back. How do they charge if they don't know what may pass or not pass the prescreen? Do they then refund on the failed ones minus the $5 nominal fee? Thanks in advance to anyone that knows about this.
  2. Overall nice condition, couple of small color breaking spine ticks and some minor handling. With a clean and press what could this possibly get? Thanks!
  3. Pretty rough around the edges and the scribbling on the back, debating if its worth a slab or not?
  4. Picked up a handful of these for a $1 per, all are pretty much the same shape. Aged and spine shows no splitting.
  5. Opinions grateful after a clean and press, I don't know how hard CGC would hit what looks to be a possible grease stains or tape marks around the staples of Superman? JLA has a half inch spine split bottom left.
  6. Thanks all for the feedback and to clarify, I'd never crack a 9.8 and resubmit in the hopes of a better grade. I just meant when you have a comic that visually looks like its a 9.8, but it sounds like it could be worth a quick press to ensure the 9.8 at the very least if money permits.
  7. Not seeking, I understand the probability is very low, just wondered about bumping yours odds a little but what Adamantium and revat said makes sense. 9.8 is always my aim for the high grades, it was pure curiosity and hope of one day getting one of those grades back.
  8. New to the board and to grading so sorry for a potentially stupid question but I'd like to hear thoughts and opinions... Is there any value in submitting your potential 9.8 comics for a press and clean prior to grading in the chances it may bump them to the elusive 9.9+ grade or would it be money not well spent?
  9. Hi guys, I'd value your opinion on something I picked up as part of an estate sale a few weeks back. Submitted to CGC with a pressing in hopes of a 5. I'll post the results when in comes back. Thanks.
