  1. Im actually interested in the nit picking. I see great color, no wear, glossiness, a couple of tiny spine tics and the aforementioned and hopefully pressable waviness at the top. TBH I’m 8.5 i don’t get 5.5 at all, but I’m here to learn. What do you guys see?
  2. 6.0 with stain, also seems to be some waviness on back - Looks like a great candidate for a press
  3. I think a 7.0 Looks like a lot of spine breaks. Love the color and sharp corners!
  4. I’m 4-5 a press will make it more attractive, but probably not get you a lot of grade improvement ... the spine wear is the killer JMHO, I’m still working on my grading ... great book, I’d love a copy this pretty!
  5. All the ones I’m posting this week are getting CGC screened, pressed and slabbed, I’ll post the results on each thread BTW seller graded it 9.0 ... I did not pay a 9.0 price! I do hope it comes in higher rather than lower, but you’re right, it doesn’t change the book and I think it’s gorgeous. I love how rich the colors are, for example, the green in the top left logo is such an interesting color, my other books from that era are more faded and it’s really neat to see the color in all its glory
  6. Yup Sent it off last week. Definitely my best silver age book. So nice I’m a little concerned it’s been restored...
  7. Interesting. TBH I’m thinking (and hoping) higher. Fwiw it is getting pressed, so I think the waviness on the top of the cover will be gone. The spine ticks jump off the photo are less noticeable in real life ... Fingers crossed! As always appreciate the help. I’m definitely a better grader from doing this ...
  8. Recent eBay acquisition. Very sharp copy, pages white.
  9. Definitely NFS, just curious how to grade it ... im really close to a complete UXM run, never would have happened without dad buying me this ... I want to say he paid 140 in the early 80s. Seemed like a lot for a rough copy, but it was the only one I ever saw and seems like quite a bargain today!
  10. A birthday gift from my dad ... over 40 years ago! Fairly rough, but I was (and am) darn glad to have it! Creased and worn, top right corner missing piece, cover attached but not tight, Interior story panel removed
  11. New list 65, 69, 70, 72, 73, 75, 76, 77, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 91 and a handful in the 500s.
  12. Spine breaks, dents, cover has a worn appearance without specific defectsh
  13. Oh wow! What grade would you give it? What $$$ are you thinking?
  14. Nice color slightly smeared top front cover couple of odd wrinkles mid and bottom cover, doesn’t break color, not a dent. Almost like too much ink at printing? Idk stain back cover thanks for your feedback! This is very educational
  15. I appreciate the feed back. Going to sell this puppy and objective opinion is quite helpful! I also need to work on my own grading skill, so this is a helpful exercise!
  16. Staples are tight, book lays flat. Cover has some light “dents” that don’t break color the top of the cover has an area that is lightly creased, stains on back cover
  17. Got some supplies from the hardware store ... working on some ideas to display my comics. Quite a lot of temptations on Ebay to plus up the collection, but I'm just going to keep selling until I have enough to compete for a nice #3. I figure after that I won't have too much trouble or have to spent toooo much to finish it off
  18. Thanks. They do exist ... but not cheap. Even a nice #65 can fetch quite a lot of cash ...
  19. 69 comics sold for a total of $685, off to a good start, hundreds more to go. My hole at #3 is going to be pricey to fill, especially with any quality at all ... starting to bid on some auctions for the holes between 65-91. Also starting to contemplate how to display my collection. I have a lot of wall space available and I’d love to have 544 comics on display. I’ve seen some nice options for displaying one or two, nothing I really love for displaying a whole collection. I am getting some decent ideas though ...
  20. I had a similar experience, except it was more personal - books that I bought off the news stand and carefully stored for 30 years came back stupid low. 4.5 to 9.0. Books that were carefully selected and NEVER even read and nothing over 9.0 ... a 4.5? I can barely talk about it. I remain quite disappointed. It does seem like they are pressing for their other services (see what I did there?lol) as a seller I certainly see the value in their product - no one seems to ever say “they over graded this book” I’m still deciding about grading my other books, also considering sending some of these back for the clean and press routine to see what I get I do NOT provide a grade on eBay, clearly someone expecting CGC standards isn’t going to like my grade - high res photos and a description of every flaw I see with a vague assessment of “high low or mid” is as far as I feel comfortable ...
  21. I like the idea of a slightly wider track. Maybe lined with something? Like felt or some other slightly gripy fabric?
  22. https://www.ebay.com/usr/ivauir I'm clearing out several long boxes. Most are bronze age marvel read once, bagged/boarded and boxed. Mostly raw. Just had some I consider high grade slabbed, came back anywhere from 9.0 to 4.5. Your milage may vary No reserve, ship at media rate and I combine shipping.
