  1. Nice book!! is the 9.8 off center on the label or am I just up way too late?
  2. Missed this post from my previous reply , you pretty well summed it all up . 👍
  3. I get that , and do agree . However Metro and gang usually highlight the same aspects regardless of QES most of the time in the same verbiage . For the new collector it is more helpful , and the seasoned one can appreciate the summary and see if they agree. In my experience the CVA books are much sharper then QES by a landslide . Truthfully I think most veteran collectors here have been buying the book and not the label so not much of an impact . Although I have had CVA books on a small sample size get a bump without a CPR . QES books I have not resubbed and with lead times and QC issues , it’s probably not going to happen for a few years anyway . I would be interested in feedback from others that own both stickers for resubs and general book quality though
  4. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265816929308?hash=item3de3ec741c:g:mHAAAOSwm8Fi7ou4 Definitely NOT a 9.9
  5. Take this smoking deal per PM, thanks Steve
  6. Guess it is all relative, I get what you are saying. But I never would have thought we would ever see sales this high for a common book. BA keys have gone pretty nutty over the last year in my opinion Last 129 9.6 I grabbed was 3k for a white page perfectly wrapped copy What does 129 9.8 sell for these days ? My signed copy was under 14k, my White pager albeit awhile back was significantly less The last Hulk 181 9.8 W I picked up was 17k for example... Just seems like a crazy trajectory for very common books, but you are correct the market is correcting but I personally think there are a lot more variables in play and desire for these books will remain strong. Just will take some time for the economy to correct itelf.
  7. Ah, yes sir notes are free now I think? Not sure if you need a membership or not, the amount you can look up in one sitting is throttled still I believe likely to save bandwidth or prevent flooding. I do have a 9.8 121 that has some small printer tears, unsure of how deep that scratch they indicate is. Your mileage may vary for CPR. Either way you should get a premium for it as 129's are super hot right now Here are a few of my favorites, the 9.4 was off the stands :
  8. Beautiful copy but I think you are stuck at a 9.6 based on the notes, as you said pretty hard to grade without it being out of the case CGC Cert # 0965706009 Title Amazing Spider-Man Issue 129 Issue Date 2/74 Issue Year 1974 Publisher Marvel Comics Grade 9.6 Page Quality OFF-WHITE TO WHITE Grade Date 02/23/2009 Grade Category Universal Art Comments Gerry Conway story, Ross Andru, Frank Giacoia and Dave Hunt art Gil Kane and John Romita cover Key Comments 1st appearance of the Punisher (Frank Castle) and the Jackal. 9. Smoking deal at $49,200! Others were asleep at the wheel and NP Gresham's keyboard batteries must have died. Congrats you will do well on this one, love the vivid colors on the center image. Keep it !!! You wont find a better priced 5.0.. Thanks for sharing
  10. Harley seemed to have quite a few of these back then . Both copies I picked up were at least 3x guide as well so you aren’t alone in that regard . Guess it all makes sense now
  11. Sure looks like a tear was sealed there to me, omitting that area looks like a sharp 5.5, but personally I could not own this book with that defect. And I would wager a guess that someone got a little aggressive with the cleaning based on the grader notes, honestly I wish CPR was not a thing ..... I would suspect the White pages (lightening perhaps) fetch a premium especially with Halperin involved....as they are tough to find. The last high grade copy I saw was 20+ years ago and Geppi outbid me, pretty tough competitor at the time. 1975051001 Title Amazing Fantasy Issue 15 Issue Date 8/62 Issue Year 1962 Publisher Marvel Comics Grade 5.5 Page Quality WHITE Grade Date 10/08/2021 Grade Category Universal Art Comments Stan Lee story Steve Ditko art Jack Kirby cover Key Comments Origin & 1st appearance of Spider-Man (Peter Parker). 1st appearance of Uncle Ben & Aunt May. 12. Called it! I knew you would come to the dark side soon :P
  13. It just takes one But with the current trajectory of high grade early ASM they might not be suited for a limited budget.
  14. Nice list, fortunate for you there are not any early ASM'S in it , I would go for the FF 52
  15. looks pretty sharp, and I believe it is an original owner from a collection TonyEtrade discovered in Lake Shasta, some very nice books he found.
  16. ASM 1 has some first's . The only reason I would keep the 181 is it is in a downward trend right now , and your ROI will be lower. Personally I do think ASM 1 is a much better book, and with AF15 climbing and climbing , many will be looking for the next best thing.
  17. JIM 83 and TOS 39 continue on an aggressive trajectory. Last year I picked up a 9.0 and a 9.2 respectively for a fraction of these prices, JIM 83 7.5's are a a 60k book now? https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/history.asp?item=1534516 And last I was watching the TOS 39 8.5 was 80k ish, not sure where it ended. Its going to be an interesting year ..............
  18. Hopefully a big enough one that he sells some of his keys
