Honestly it comes down to what the owner of the book wants to do. For me it mostly comes down to what if something happens to me and my wife or kids needs to sell my books. Much easier done if they are graded. I happen to have an arrangement with Heritage in just that case.

I'm not sure I'll ever understand the thought process that goes into removing a comic that is in a CGC case. They typically sell for a little more and any number of things can happen to cause damage or downgrade once removed. Is it meant to be read? If so you can buy, as anybody knows, a reprint for pennies on the dollar. Maybe you never plan to resell, but if you do you will fetch less money for it raw than graded. This topic has been rehashed at least a thousand times, but I never fail to be surprised when I see comments about "freeing" a slabbed book.

As always, I am looking for a few EC books. I am still looking for A Moon, A Girl Romance #12 and Modern Love # 7. I'm actually looking for a lot more (you can look at my complete EC run in the CGC sets list to see what is missing). But this is my focus right now. Hi All- I hope your year end is going well. This week Heritage is auctioning off my Santa/Frosty related issues. While overall my books have been going at a pretty good price there is always at least one issue a week that goes for less than what I paid. Last weeks the Francis issues were up for auction and given how scarce they are in high grade I'm surprised a few went as cheap as they did. I have not found Slayor to be a very good grader on ungraded items. The price on his graded books would make most collectors blush...crazy high prices.

You are all talking about Qualitycomix. No reason to avoid names. I recently bought a few very scarce EC books from them and turns out the prices were not too far off what I would expectant at auction. There was one book I paid about 1800 that I thought was overvalued by as much as 2-300 dollars. But at the end of the day, I realized I had been looking for a nice copy for at least 10 years and hadn't seen one come up in all that time. So, I just bought it. He offered me 5% off, but that's really peanuts. They do have some incredibly good stuff. Not sure where they get it all. I think they sell books on consignment, would be my guess.

Census would suggest they are at least half as available as 9 and 10 but, you are right, they never seem to show up.

Trade anybody? I have graded copy of a Moon, A Girl...Romance #10 in 5.0. I need 11 and 12. Anybody able to make a trade work? I've actually got a number of ECs I could make trades for. I will see if I can post soon.

I'm sure a few of you have seen my registry for EC books and would note I'm getting into the high branches. Anybody have a lead on an International Crime Patrol #6?
