  1. Hello once more. Here is another comic I have checked out of mine and would like to get everyone's opinion on the grade. I've picked a lot each time I've submitted in this forum as well as reading other posts and grading guides - thanks in advance.
  2. Thanks to all. I'm starting to get more of the nuances that go into grading from this forum as well as continuing research and actual grading. I found an interesting page online the other day which had a matrix detailing each page of a comic and the color grade (tan, white, cream, etc.) There's a lot going into this.
  3. Thanks Gnasher once again. Would you say the ink ion the back cover such as this plays a significant role in lowering a grade?
  4. I don't have any idea how much the in on the back cover lowers the grade - hope you all can provide me your insight and experience on this one - thank you.
  5. I had heard that - nonetheless, your input and others on grading have been a good reality check and also helps me value my collection - I have many silver age but probably none above above 9.4/9.6 but I also have many bronze age (?) that really are in good shape (maybe 9.6 to 9.8 - I'll load one up) and may be worth more in the long run so I should maybe get those one slabbed instead of the silver age ones.
  6. have you ever used fedex or ups - though at this point I am thinking via Canada post registered mail also.
  7. nice - I had also heard the same from someone at a comic store this weekend where i bought some backing boards and bags - that grading is tougher on silver age - thanks gadzukes - also for the suggestion on how to post for superboy #3 - thanks man!
  8. of course - yeah, my first post was pretty messy- here is the front cover
  9. sorry if this is getting off topic, but it seems that the value could be so subjective and then if you end having to claim then that could be an issue - anyways, more research will answer this and I'll share my findings (but under the appropriate forum).
  10. This is the only Canadian comic that I have. I stopped collecting late 1970s and wish I had kept them in better shape since then - some are in such bad condition when I first purchased them, lol, I was only 12 years old and so any condition was fine as long as I had the comic I do have one specific comic I would like to get input from this community on - Spiderman #28. I am unsure what to do about it if it's a good grade then how does one properly insure it when sending to CGC (I'm scared it could get lost or damaged) or do people manage such comics in person - or maybe, the grade of my comic won't warrant it anyways ? I will take some pictures(front and back this time) and upload them tonight for you all to consider.
  11. Thank you for this great information gadzukes! As I mentioned, I haven't looked at my collection for many, many years and so much has changed/improved about collecting.
  12. Thanks Gnasher & 1950's! I will take that good advice - I did not know that CGC grading and pressing can be done as a single process (though separate fees). kudos.
  13. Thank you for your ratings and suggestions - yes, here is the back of the comic. Thanks you suggesting pressing - I have started to read about cleaning and pressing and cleaned my first comic and am really surprised this works so well. I hope to try pressing but on not so old comics to being with.
  14. Hello, I'm just rediscovering my comic collection and finding a lot of useful information from these forums. I've never had a comic graded or pressed (just found out about what pressing is today). I'd like to get an idea of what grade the following might get - please note, the comic was published in Canada. I hope I am not attaching too many photos - let me know if so and I will be sure to reduce it for any other posts. Thank you.
