My copy finally arrived and I'm told the free foil books are being shipped out next week now that everybody should have received their CGC order. I've already listed my CGC SS 9.8 #8/100 on eBay with a starting bid of .99 and we'll see what the real interest is in the series. There are only 34 CGC SS 9.8s. There won't be any more.

I'm still waiting on info about mine. So far Paypal doesn't even show it has been shipped. But they are looking into it.
-
The Finch foil was limited to 100 copies (lies!). The Montes foil was limited to 50 copies (lies!). And not everyone would have ordered theirs with the additional CGC option. We will also be receiving an additional foil copy with our CGC books for free.

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
BobBain replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
That is an assumption. Just because other sellers have it for less and an auction is above your threshold does not mean they are scamming the system. I'd rather deal with facts and not conspiracy theories. Show facts or it probably is not happening outside of your own little perspective. -

No actual way to tell. But right now it's over $300. -
Now in hand. It does look like it would benefit from a good press (not for the miswrap) and cleaning. The back stain is slight in person, so it could be removed with cleaning.

Invest can mean different things to different people. Anyone who has a collection has invested in comics. Speculation is different. Don't speculate on comics or you'll more than likely get burned.

I'll find out when it arrives in a couple of days. The auction claimed the biggest issue was the miswrap and made no claim of moisture. The back was my main concern grade wise. But should be worth it as long as there is no moisture damage present.
-
Bought this off eBay for less than forty bucks (shipped) in auction and was wondering what the grade could be as is. It has a miswrap and looks like it could use a bit of pressing from the look of it. Thoughts on if this was a good investment and what it might grade at?

There are still a few signed sets left @ $125 plus shipping. https://www.alexrossart.com/Immortal-Hulk-20-Alex-Ross-Art-Exclusive-Set-of-2-SIGNED_p_925.html

I preordered the two book set of Alex Ross' SDCC Immortal Hulk #20. Cover B is going to be hot!

GRADED - PGM: Detective Comics 475
BobBain replied to BobBain's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
They graded this a 9.0 and the 476 an 8.0. This 9.0 looks worse than the 8.0... any ideas on how they could have graded these two as they did? -

Looking at this book and the 475 that they graded a 9.0, This book looks better on both sides. Not sure how they graded it at 8.0. -
Thanks! Just going through the huge collection of my dad's that I grabbed after he passed. These were in several boxes in a shed.

Still waiting on it. USPS certified mail is slow. UPS would have been here within 2 days after shipping. -
Do you think that crease may have a shot at being pressed out? You have to get up close to even see it. It somewhat breaks color... this is one of those Iffish press books from my perspective.
-
Looking for thoughts on the current grade and if the defects could be pressed out for a higher grade
