  1. Right. I had just edited my post to add that it included comments/signatures by a "Steve Ditko" and "Stan Lee" on splash page. But it was not an SS book, and apparently would have been a strong price even for an SS book.
  2. I'm surprised no one is talking about the AF15 cgc blue 5.5 C/OW that went for $72K today at HA. The 90-day was 40,650 (2 books) and most recent was 40,500 in December (per GPA). That was an increase of $31,500 or roughly 78% month-to-month! It did include very cool comments/signatures by a "Steve Ditko" and "Stan Lee" on splash page. But still, that was a very strong price for non-SS 5.5, heck even an SS 5.5 book! Wonder if a trend.
  3. I'm surprised no one is talking about the AF15 cgc 5.5 C/OW that went for $72K today at HA. The 90-day was 40,650 (2 books) and most recent was 40,500 in December (per GPA). That was an increase of $31,500 or roughly 75%! Suggests a surge or at least that the cooling-off period we saw in 2020 for that book is over? Just realized that book included unverified comments/signatures by a "Steve Ditko" and "Stan Lee" on splash page! But still, that was a very strong price for non-SS 5.5?
  4. Hmm, not really. The presumptive hot SA book going into today HA auction was X-Men #1. The X-Men #1 cgc 8.5 OW sold on HA today for $50,400, just a bit below the $51000 it fetched (per GPA) in December. Relatively speaking, this bodes well for IH#1. But it's just one data point (although a prominent one). Even if the explosion could await complete return of Hulk to Disney, it appears that IH#1 could at least be making up some lost ground this year.
  5. GRRR! Hulk #1 might be due to explode, based on today's HA sale of blue 7.0 for $52,800? $43,200 was the high in July. A bump was long overdue as some suggested, and Hulk remained popular in MCU. Going forward, Disney doesn't even own full rights to Hulk yet, and we see what is going on with X-Men and FF.
  6. okay, okay. Proper english I will. I'll take Sub-mariner 2
  7. Fire and Water above the ocean to Fire and Water in the ocean
  8. I'm not sure if you are referring to diversification as a collector or diversification as an investor? Both? haven't you heard, comics are not for investing! For an investor, i can see the draw of having just that one mid-grade AF15. Simple, even practical maybe. As a collector, eye-candy to boot. But what kind of collector are you? I am a huge fan of Hulk, Batman, Spidey, and Supe, but I like many others a lot too. So while I have high-end books for my fav characters, I could never pursue one to the complete exclusion of the other. Diversification is in my DNA. I have an A
  9. Happy 180th-anniversary (for this 1841 Tilt & Bogue version, on which the 1842 Brother Jonathan version was based)! 1841, when comic books were still books. Gotta love a character that inspired wonderful threads like this.
  10. And take X-men 23 pence, along with the Star Wars 4 and Spidey 47 called above already.
