  1. I was just curious since Strange Academy #1 had a paragraph of new characters on the label and such. I used the Venom and Thor examples because all you hear is Key issue this and Key issue that. Then people run around thinking every venom book is somehow worth $500 lol. Anyone else annoyed when 3rd prints sell, not are priced, but sell for $900 or more based on who is on the cover of a non key book, meanwhile Key issues of series like X-Men, Avengers! Spider-Man or pick hour favorite DC series, rarely break that value despite being, 20-50 years old? not upset, as I collect to own, not to flip for profit, but it just reminds me so much of the mid to late 1990’s and the lines of people who never read a comic in their life buying as many Death of Supermans as they could lol.
  2. I am just curious why it seems that a lot of times, books with Cameos, partial appearances or First Appearances are not on the label for a lot of 2020 books, heck even 2019 books. I get that likely it is just because CGC is utterly and completely bombarded by submissions which makes knowing every single Key Appearance, hidden, partial, cameo or full, next to impossible to catch. However, the Venom series and Thor series of Donny Cates is blowing up as far as new characters, and the labels, not really catching them all. Example : Venom 25 1st cameo appearance of Codex 1st cameo appearance of Virus Thor 4 : 1st cameo appearance of the Black Winter . Thor 5 : 1st full appearance of The Black Winter maybe 6 and 7 who knows, none in the wild as far as I know yet. Not a complaint, as I said, I have sneaking suspicions as to why this is the case. However, it would be helpful if the labels had these ASAP in my opinion.
  3. Could you add : "MIRKA ANDOLFO'S MERCY" Image ( 2020 - ongoing ) 4 issues so far. Set added per a previous request. Thank you
  4. yup, that was the book. I already returned it and the seller was super apologetic and very cool about it. It was indeed shipped priority mail and to be honest, it was wrapped first in a double sheet of thin bubble wrap, then a thick wrap of the thick bubble wrap, then it was sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard that were 1/2" longer and wider than the slabbed book. then that was in a priority mail if it fits it ships box that had even more bubble wrap around all that. How this occurred is truly beyond me as the box looked only slightly damaged at the most unlike some boxes I have received that look like a gorilla used it as a seat cushion. I guess USPS just hates me. Although to be honest, I have nearly 60 CGC slabbed X-men books that managed to arrive with zero damage so... I guess there just must be some USPS transfer and sorting station in the mid-west or in Seattle that has Tuck-Fards working there. This shipment was on the LOW damage side ( no contents damaged ) as far as the boxes are concerned.
  5. Wow, this took quite a turn haha. The seller has been great and has gone the extra mile to ensure that no matter what I decide to do they have my back. Also, I finally got fed up with USPS and have filed numerous damage claims and so far one has resulted in an award of $100 for $113 worth of comics so that is a good sign. More then likely, I will end up getting the comic re slabbed if I am awarded money from USPS and will return it if not since the seller lives less than an Hour from CGC headquarters and can just do a drop off. Since i posted this I have gotten 2 more cracked CGC cases and one is just a minor crack along the front ( impossible to tamper with the book and it's not even big enough to allow air in. The second one, it's getting returned to seller today. These pics show why :
  6. So... Are the boards dead or just no one has any advice / opinions? just curious.
  7. I recently bought an X-men 137 CGC 9.8 on Ebay ( for 25 under value until the value dropped on two value sites - oh boy ) and sadly, even though the seller did what looked to be an extremely good job protecting the book / holder, no one can truly protect from USPS. Upon arrival the top of the case, nearly dead center had a 2-3" chunk of case missing, the missing piece(s) were inside the polybag. IS this something I should send in for a re-casing? My fear is that I will need to re-submit the book and it will magically drop in grade. If it was a 9.4 or under, no worries. 9.8 however, well we all know why that is a scary issue. It's obvious that there has been no tampering, nothing can be removed without damage. So what should I do? File a claim with USPS? will they honor a claim when the "book" is not damaged but the "holder" is? What a great B-Day present USPS has given me.
