  1. Wow, that FF#3 without question looks sliced and diced with possibly the bottom edge having avoided the knife! By the way, trimming is not minor restoration. It is arguably the worst type of restoration performed, call it mutilation of a comic book. And I'd be extremely concerned about color touch and tear seals on this book as well. Best of luck with it. Since you're not selling it and are happy, enjoy it in your collection.
  2. Buyers will likely calculate the sales tax and adjust their purchase price offers on high dollar books on eBay, and bid or BIN accordingly. My thoughts are this could in turn lower GPA sales data (by 7%-8%) on many CGC books. Sales tax where I live in California is 7.75%.
  3. So from a Restored CGC 9.4 to Universal CGC 9.0. What restoration was removed? Did they tear the bottom right corner off too?
  4. Would be interested to see the names and disbursement amounts he has provided to single mothers. Might be a long time coming for that list to materialize
  5. Has there been any confirmation that money from this so-called charity has actually been received by any of the intended single mothers. Names and how much has been disbursed? Where could anyone find this information out?
  6. It's an interesting book and looks like it's been pressed at least a few times. The back cover staples appear to have some very slight tears and the bottom right front corner has a small chip out. Wonder if those defects have always been there? Any photos of this book before it was re-holdered?
  7. I'm very interested to hear which auction houses have been caught shilling their books? Any links that can provide more info? I have my suspicions on one auction house in particular
  8. Would need a clear photo/scan of the entire book, front and back, to make a more accurate assessment on the grade. From the blurry photos you provided, the spine looks very nice except for the bottom area wear. Overall, an 8.0 is not out of the question with those defects that are visible.
  9. Definitely a super tough decision to exclude #50, possibly the greatest Spidey cover of them all
  10. Great book and that is an awesome collecting goal!
  11. I'm still wondering why did they even use "Berk" in the name? I honestly thought this entity had something to do with Jon Berk! Possibly part of the deception What's the penalty for creating a fraudulent charity?
  12. I had actually thought this entity had something to do with Jon Berk and a charity associated with his sold comics
  13. Very interesting, you can definitely feel the change at Marvel going on with this issue...
  14. Absolutely! Many pedigree books are identified by their unique date stamp or date mark. Love this "date stamp" pedigree
  15. Lol, not absolutely perfect, but you don't know how many years it took me to find this wrapped copy alone, without the code being cut off! It more than appeased my collecting OCD
  16. I'm a fan of well centered/wrapped books and will pay a premium for those hard to find issues. #129 is notorious for being miss-wrapped and poorly centered. In my preference, I don't mind a very tiny bit of cover wrapped to the back, over a white miss-wrap to the front. I also look for a #129 that doesn't have the "comics code" cut off at the top.
