  1. Thanks. The good news is that if I get enough consignments, I will continue the San Diego email blast of art for sale. Keep in mind that there are many more buyers on my mailing list than show up at San Diego. m
  2. After 43 years of exhibiting at San Diego Comic Con, I’m done. I’m not getting into why, cause it’s really no ones business. But suffice to say I’m tired. Please don’t email me with questions Or asking if you can have my booth. I won’t respond. Just putting this out there for the 2 or 3 people who might care. I’m NOT going out of business. Always looking for consignments. Thanks for looking and I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. Best, Mitch Itkowitz/ Graphic Collectibles
  3. It wasn’t framed when Bernie pulled it out of a box to give me to sell.
  4. Hey All! I have 59 of my Graphic Collectibles catalogs to sell as one lot. Catalogs are from 1981 - 2016. Some are in better condition than others. It’s a great trip back in time when early Romita Sr. Spider-Man pages were $25 each, as well as a slew of other art. Please make an offer if interested. Send me a PM or email me at mitkowitz@hvc.rr.com Thanks for looking. Best, Mitch Itkowitz
  5. When I originally sold it for Bernie, the art was off white.
  6. Not even close to being Wood. it makes me sad when people don’t do their due diligence when listing art. And these guys sell comics. A little research would have shown Wood never touched these pages. it also made me sad that some poor buyer is going to buy these thinking it’s Wood.
  7. Gene is right. As an art dealer who has been exhibiting at SD for over 40 years, longer than any other art dealer, I have seen the gradual decline in attendance at the show of those interested in buying art. Many factors weigh in, not the least being difficulty getting into the show. For the last few years, it's been the usual suspects, mostly dealers, pseudo dealers, collectors who deal, who flock around around my booth like vultures waiting for the kill. I would rather see more collectors at my booth waiting to buy. However with the internet, especially for the last couple years, I have sold more from my site during the show, than at the show. No new buyers. The people who bought from me at the show would have bought through my site at the show. Which brings me to my next dilemma. Do I continue going to the show, spending all that money, in my senior years, or just do the internet? Will I still get the same amount of consignments if I don't go? I just don't feel the necessity of physically having to be there, or at any show for that matter. So, I'm on the fence about going to SD next year. I have the booth, but do I want the hassle? Besides I get incredibly ill every year the day after I return from diseased bastards on the plane. MI
  8. Years ago, when I sold the BWS story, “Red Nails”, I was paid in cash sent via fed ex in their letter envelopes.
  9. The Kirby/Sinnott Surfer is not for a poster. It was originally drawn for mine and Larry Shell’s “Jack Kirby Masterwork’s” book from 1978. in this case Jack drew the art in pencil, and Sinnott inked it over the original several years later.
  10. I don’t feel bad. That was a great price back then. no way it will hit 1 mil.

  12. And to think I sold that Frankenstein piece for Bernie over 24 years ago for $35,000, which was a lot at the time. MI
  13. Did you buy the Wrightson from me? I sold it for Bernie back in the day.

  16. Inks were definitely not done in 1978 or 79. While the art was drawn in 78, the book didn’t come out till mid 79. I didn’t sell the original till a couple months later. MI
  17. The short story is, I made a mistake. After doing research, it turns out Sinnott lightboxed the pencils and I sold the original pencils to the consignor after the book was published. Since the original pencils were sprayed with a fixative so the pencils wouldn’t smear. The consignor had Sinnott ink the original, and because it is difficult to erase pencils once the art has been spray fixed, is why you still see pencils. I conveyed this story to Heritage and that is what you see for the listing. MI
