Hope I’m in the right forum.Thinking  of Sending  in my ASM 300 9.4 sign by Stan Lee on 11/19/2018 for a Todd McFarlane signature. Graders notes-spine stress lines break color. are they grading more stringently now than four years ago?Barring anyone damaging the book does it hold its grade?.thanks

Does anyone know if there's a thread for people published in the Letter page.I had one published in '76 (even earned a "no prize").Would Like to see that.

 Need help! trying to decide between two JIM 83 based on how close to gpa.both books appear to fit the grade.If anyone can give me a snapshot it would be appreciated.

And if anyone has a crystal ball as to where the price is going...

As we all know prices are always going up.been trying to nail down one of these but the lowest I'm getting is 18k for 4.5 and 17k for 4.0.nowhere near these recent sales numbers?

 Don't think we can compare 8.0-9.0 ss to a 9.4 ss however 9.4 is definitely a step down from a 9.6-9.8 for this book with the volume of graded copies out there.

I do agree with Mar1979 that a market correction will start with lower grades.

So is this just an outlier(it was sold midweek and midday)?

I don’t know, Ebay may be a lot of things but it does protect the buyer

ASM 300 9.4 signed by Todd Mcfarlane just sold on eBay for $1,202  can anyone say market correction coming?!

 I purchased most of my collection in the early to mid-70s,my MO was every Saturday morning 2mile bicycle ride to a stationary store with a LCS right next to it,picked up the new releases then go next-door and pick up back issues for 25-50 cents (sounds great but you can only imagine the big books they had on the wall behind the counter and what I could’ve bought some of those for… Ugh)so my grades are all over the place. anyhow what do you think ? clean and press or not,problem is the clean and press takes such a long time is it worth it and am I really going to get much better of a grade?

About a 3.5 right now unless there are interior stains or other damage to bring it to a 3.0.  Definitely get it cleaned, although I don't know how well the stains will come out even then.  Still, a very cool book that you should be proud to own!  

Thanks appreciate it,I had all these books for nearly 50 years.I had a bunch slabbed already starting to get to be questionable ones in my collection

A press won't improve the grade but a cleaning certainly will improve the eye-appeal, hence the sales price result. A cleaning may even raise the grade a half a point.
