  1. I was the commenter that asked if it was restored with how it was packed / handled. Vinny responded that it was in a bigger box, didn't address the resto issue. We shall see. Impossible to tell from that far away, but the blue color appears to be different at June 1938 so wonder if there is some work done to it. Here's a screen capture I took
  2. Grades in. They are all tough, but I found the Superman 75 especially tough. Transitioning sensibilities from HG Silver to Bronze to Modern.
  3. Non color breaking stress on the back cover and the soft bottom corner of the spine. I would definitely press the book. I think it can press to a NM/NM+ 9.6
  4. The Batman 1 purchased here on the boards from @Crowzilla arrived safe and sound and I am a very happy new owner. Thanks again, Sean!
  5. Looking for a few signatures for creators who don't make regular appearances (like Murphy). Thanks in advance for all replies!
  6. I see edge wear on all four corners, heavy spine wear and stress at both staples, but the cover appears to be attached at both staples. The store stamp and price stamp will also lower the grade and the loose marker going through the title. Technically, I think this is a VG- but it presents nicer since the cover is in tact with no tears and the colors seem to be rich on the cover as well.
  7. I agree. I have been buying a lot December to now. I generally think that, unless you're looking at this as a professional where inventory turnover matters, this downturn presents an opportunity and I'd rather be buying here than waiting for a further pullback. Generally speaking prices may go lower but this is as attractive a time to buy as any I can recall in the last 5 years.
  8. Hi all, looking for input here. I think the book is in the VG/FN range, but it has a coupon clipped. That coupon affects the pin-up. As is, the book is tight and intact, but for the clipping. My question is, with this being a mid-grade book, would we be looking at a mid grade (qualified), a lower grade, a mid grade simply with a notation. So, please help me grade my ASM 3. Thanks! - Trent
  9. Hi thanks for answering, but that wasn't exactly the question asked. The comic is from a recognized pedigree (Curator), but it is in a blue universal label without label notation. If I submit it for a re-holder, will it be in a gold pedigree label?
  10. Hi all - I know that previously (prior to the special pedigree label color) CGC would not put a pedigree notation on a modern comic even if the comic is from a recognized pedigree. Has that changed in light of the new label? I have the Curator New Mutants 98. It's currently in a CGC 9.8 slab and I have the certificate identifying it as the curator copy. I would like to have it in the Pedigree Gold Label, if possible. Please let me know whether or not this can be accomplished. Thank you for your help - Trent
  11. It looks like almost all of the spine stress should be able to press out. I don't think the top edges will structurally benefit from a press, but they'd certainly present nicer. It's hard to tell what's dust shadowing v staining so I don't suspect that much can be told about cleaning until it's actually in hand. I think it can absolutely press into the VG/FN range and can maybe be cleaned into the VG/FN/FN- range. I would think a great result has you around 5.5, and more likely 4.5/5.0. I think the top edges have too much tearing to get into the FN range, and I think if it is a dust shadow (which seems most likely) you're looking at a 5.0 ceiling more or less.
  12. Looks like it would benefit from a press. That upper corner of the spine would probably improve considerably. I see 6 spine ticks and stress at both staples. As is I think it’s F+ / F/VF. I think it could improve to VF-
