  1. You have a good memory, yes I still have the Church NA 24. It has a 1” bottom spine split otherwise is NM+. I purchased the book raw from Harley in a package deal that also included the super-tough Adv 36 (that later CGC’d 5.5, Big Apple copy), Adv 38 in CGC 9.4 (purple/cleaned), and a raw Adv 39 (Big Apple copy) that has amateur color touch on the cover. The fact that the NA 24 had the 1” spine split made it “affordable”, relatively speaking. In the same grouping was the Church NA 20; it was beautiful but was priced to the moon, and the cover wasn’t a favorite, so I passed. I do regret not biting the bullet and picking it up simply because the book was subsequently stolen (and hasn’t been seen since, to my knowledge). Anyway, mega congratulations to Peter; his collecting prowess of these rare DC books is unmatched.
  2. I met him long ago at SDCC and purchased a few OA strips from him, Truly one of the underrated greats of the Golden Age.
  3. Gorgeous Andy, just gorgeous!!
  4. To me, MF 52 - 56 are one of the most iconic mini-runs in comics. My MF 54 and MF 55 are two of the most cherished books in my collection. I used to own the Church copy of MF 56, unfortunately I haven’t been able to find a replacement (even restored would be fine) after all these years.
  5. No need, you’ve already gone down the rabbit hole.
  6. Jay, I’ve had the Jungle 15 for such a long time I just can’t recall where it came from. Cant really see it in the photo, but “Larson” is erased on her upper right leg. Yes, the colors are even more amazing in person!
  7. Love me some Astounding, especially the early issues - wish I had more! My first Lovecraft short story was Dagon, so it’s near and dear. Lovecraft is my favorite author, his work is not just horror, it’s literature.
  8. I’ve heard that ComicCav has been mentoring him.
  9. True - in my defense, I already had the issues that the seller listed as the interiors, and I’m certainly not going to pay big bucks for the Comedy Carnival cover!
  10. The seller (Terry) also had a Comedy Carnival which he said was all Baker inside (it had a PR and TAR), but I didn’t look to confirm (FYI).
  11. I PM’d with another boardie and he asked the same question. While at the show yesterday, my email to another expert before buying the book went astray, and the miscommunication was my fault. Tough book, but not Baker.
  12. New acquisition today, I’ve never seen this St. John before and there’s nothing in the usual databases. No Baker inside as far as I can tell. Of course Sqeggs (Tony) has one, anyone else?
  13. I really enjoyed the show today, felt great to attend a convention. Many thanks to an involved.
  14. The Larson MM 7 is my book, and that’s correct (I love it just the same ).
  15. A Top 5 EC for me too, it has everything going for it. This issue used to be a sleeper (as compared to some of the other classic/gruesome EC covers), but no more - the sleeper has awakened! Congrat’s
