  1. Just read this past weeks post so I will respond.... And I'll post this one time and one time only...Solely for those who may have gotten in our hobby recently and want to know ACTUAL FACTS about this story. I'm not answering anything more on the CGC boards after this post. (if you REALLY want to call me or email me privately to discuss this or anything....my info is on my Romitaman website for those who really want to chat) What ACTUALLY happened here is..I gave some art to heritage in late 2014-2015 I believe ....... the art all had no reserves (which i didn't know at the time as it was given to them when i was set up at a San Diego or New York con and I was very busy and there was a mix up on my part not knowing all art i had given them til afterward..and that was totally my fault..... i told multiple collectors in the hobby .if you buy any art that was my consignments in the auction for well below market value..... if you want to buy it to keep..so be it. ........But I have no problem buying it back from you with extra added for your trouble, or giving great art trade to get the art back if its worth it for them ..... ..and i did on some... and that was it.... NOW....... when one of the pieces in auction was on my website afterward..........and was posted by Glen Gold here on CGC.... Mike Hranek (vodou) and his buddies start posting non stop what a terrible shiller, cheater, swindler, and whatever else i was... and post after post........it keeps blowing up bigger and bigger and bigger........and it eventually got to the point that it was now being accused of shilling nonstop for over a decade in Comiclink, heritage, comic connect, and anywhere else that sells art at auction! I apologized for it back then on these boards........and i publicly gave out my private email and phone number to talk privately with DOZENS of art collectors here from the CGC boards when this all happened to explain it all. its IRONIC how Mike (vodou) Hranek doesn't post where some mathematician guy with a LOT of time on his hands on these boards.....posted on that very thread how he went through my ENTIRE WEBSITE with several thousands of pieces of art.......... and he went through several years of heritage art auctions over many years and looked up thousands of art pieces at auctions yet found zero ties between art i bought and what was sold at heritage and any other auctions. and after all this Mike Hranek (voodoo) here, INSISTED that i should just give him or post for him and his buddies my personal inventory list of what I've bought and sold on site and at auctions to appease them..... Mike Hranek (vodou here) was even trying to get lawyers to sue me over this! I'm sure mike vodou Hranek will share all of his vast knowledge of FACTS as he sees them also. Maybe this is why Mike Hranek (vodou) always has an ax to grind whenever I post about anything on these CGC boards..and that's OK... after all....it is a chat board and mike can (and will) say whatever he feels he needs to get off his chest about me. vodou posts what seems like 30-50 times per day and i post once every week or 2.... and the more you read something the more it sticks i guess. Ankur Jetley was the first to bring this old thread up in his most recent posts. I'm guessing he does this because we used to be good friends a decade or 2 ago and i used to get him FREE John Romita Spiderman signatures and nice Romita Sr Spiderman commission drawings from John Romita, until Ankur started selling his holy treasures he got from john Romita so I stopped helping him with Romita Spiderman drawings... he can keep posting all he wants about me here on the boards as that is his right...But he and I both know why we don't chat as friends anymore. . I'm truly Sorry this had to all come up again on these boards like this......But since Mike Vodou Hranek AND Ankur kept bringing this up and cutting and pasting 5 year old posts... I had to respond.... The way I see it......if i don't stand up for myself...... everyone not in the know abut this years ago thread will keep believing these 2 guys one sided comments about me.
  2. huh??? mr mike voodoo......you say i've posted here that I buy art to sell for the same price i pay?.......... i really said that? I "have said" in the past (and I will ALWAYS say today and in the future) that I ALWAYS trade and/or sell OLDER inventory...at value for value to get new inventory in to keep things fresh so I have more art to offer customers. I feel this is a good business practice for me....... that doesn't mean its good for others...as every dealer or collector has their own way the conduct business..... I never tell anyone what they should and shouldnt do.. But i know mr mike voodoo, you like telling EVERYONE your way of thinking on an almost daily basis ......its sort of your mantra here to tell other what to do... and so be it..... as this is a chat board..... and it seems that since you post more than anyone here......You probably get enough people believing you know what's really going on in our entire hobby..........and good for you...... I will now leave here to put a LOT LOT more FRESH art to flip on my website, (at exactly what i paid for it according to mr mike)..or.... Do I massively overprice it so i can burst our art bubble (according to a previous post) ........either way.....I'll do my best to figure it out........Happy Art Collecting folks!!!! ROMITAMAN
  3. YES NC101.... this "40 year" bubble you speak of above will burst at some point..I have no doubt it will one day. You can blame me if you want, for that happening....i'm a decent part of the market as i probably (and albert) sell more silver and bronze and copper age art than anyone.. So directly or indirectly i'd be part of whatever happens people decide to sell and unload while other people decide to not buy anymore.. I'd say people's income or lack of income globally in their jobs would be more of a reason people stop buying comic art anymore. it seems you re giving me very high status in our hobby (which I do appreciate) for you to say i'm responsible in some way for the day our market falters. I will take that responsibility you want me to take as a badge of honor...as when that day happens i will most assuredly lose more than anyone reading this, for what art i have in my collection. 20 years ago I told a close art friend who has been in the hobby 15 years before I got in, that 2025 would be when our market starts to go downhill...this was BEFORE the Marvel movies started coming out..... now I feel it will be closer to around 2040 if and when things start to pan out when guys my age and a little younger start to seriously sell off their collections.....but like any market...stock or whatever.....time will tell. flippant attitude Mike...LOL
  4. nope........ correct forum.....but thanks again MR. MIKE....for reminding us all of your opinion.........again..and again...and again....LOL
  5. Like Mitch.......I'm falling out of love with selling art at conventions. Before the internet came about...selling and buying art at conventions was ESSENTIAL!!!! Now...not so much. I stopped doing the comic-art cons in NJ as i just don't like driving 16 hours round trip and paying for hotels gas and table fees and travel....... for a 6 hour show. I told Dan and Joe that if they made the show a 2 day show (in the spring at least) i'd start going back as i personally feel collectors from Europe an the west coast will make the trip for a 2 day show to work on more deals and not be pressed into that 6 hour only window to doing a deal that sometimes may be take an extra day or 2 to work out if its a bigger art deal.... (This is just my personal opinion and maybe i'm wrong..and that's ok.) I'm thinking about winding down doing san diego con but I love seeing alot of my west coast friends and friends from europe and asia so for now i'll keep doing San Diego for now. As I get older I just enjoy relaxing in the comfort of my own home and scanning art and putting it on my website to sell as its so much more convenient with ZERO hassle. and no fear of art getting stolen or damaged. i just got my contract for new york comic con this year (October 8-11) and 3 booths now cost over $6600.00!!! 2 booths at san diego are $6000.00 now also! As silly as this might sound.....if people ever wanted to have a "MIDWEST COMIC ART CON" AT MY HOME IN OHIO with a 10-15 booth show at my house (in 2 rooms) i could probably accommodate!! DEALER TABLES WOULD BE FREE..... AND ADMISSION IS FREE..... and i have a golf course right near my home with 50 - 70 parking spaces!!!
  6. Anyone who thinks a Curt Swan 37 year old superman full splash with large images of superman and Clark Kent battling is horribly overpriced at 1500 (with negotiations lower always possible).... I got some pogo strips to offer you for 2000 a daily....A STEAL I TELL YA...!!!! and I agree with "Mr Mike above...... overpaying is a bad habit.... and puts any business eventually..... out of business....
  7. Just for the record...... I did NOT buy this Curt Swan Superman splash where Superman is getting punched out by Clark Kent, on EBAY...... I got it from a collector privately at double what it sold for on Ebay...But HEY... Thanks for letting me know where it came from.... AND PLEASE......EVERYONE.... keep checking out my website and find your flip of the day and keep posting it..I love this and its quite informative! ROMITAMAN (dot com)

Steve Jobs There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. Albert Einstein The best dreams happen when you're awake. - Cherie Gilderbloom We must all suffer from one of two pains; the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is that discipline weighs ounces and lasts a moment while regret weighs tons and lasts a lifetime! Jim Rohn and my 5th and favorite quote for us comic art fans is................. ROMITAMAN
  10. RS...email me privately your mailing address...i'll send you something!!! (seriously)
  11. Thanks RS..that is very kind of you to say... (i'm honestly not sure who you are...... but thanks for the post!) Honestly...... i love this hobby more than people realize.. Meeting John Romita and becoming close friends with him is the absolute top highlight of my entire life! I'm blessed that I've been able to turn my art collecting into a business that I love doing. meeting people online, on the phone, I cherish it all every day!......and the only 2 shows i do each year now I love also (san Diego and new york) And even more than that....Virtually every close friend i have today...... I met through this great hobby. Mike PS..I am going to The Naples comic-Con show Italy in late April as a guest for their AMAZING SPIDERMAN (50th Anniversary of Spiderman comics coming to Italy) I'm loaning them several high end ASM pieces of art from Steve Ditko, John Romita Sr, John Buscema, Gil Kane, Ross Andru, Kieth Pollard, John Byrne, Romita Jr, Ron Frenz, McFarlane and others for their show display and i'm excited to do it and meet many European art fans i have and haven't met before as this will be my very first time going to Europe! If anyone wants to see any particular art who may attend the show please contact me privately and i'm happy to show art to fellow art fans there!
  12. yes the art art is selling for actual cash (zero trade) (he is making time payments.... As I always offer very fair time payments to customers) I'm sorry to sadden you but no market place is happening here...... i could have left my website url in my past post which would have made you a tad salty, but i chose not to as that would not be "cool" as i was thinking very much about your feelings Mr Mike! but thanks for the extra post sales pitch ...much appreciated! ROMITAMAN
  13. I totally get where you are coming from. It was quite devious for someone to do this without your permission.
  14. I personally would be flattered to no end if people made copies of my original non published art pieces I own and they were good enough to make money from them... (I do feel you should have the right to tell them to stop if you don't like this, or they should at least give you some sort of residual...but I've no idea how this could legally be enforced) i feel it makes your ORIGINAL DRAWN piece WAY MORE valuable with the more eyes seeing an image of it anywhere!!! John Romita Sr drew some GREAT Spiderman / Peanuts themed pieces for me years ago.... i'd love to have prints made of those........ and hundreds of other great Romita non published drawings I own........ if anyone LEGIT wanted to sell them with all proceeds going to a comic artist charity or the APL, i'd be all for it!!! Mike
