  1. Today, March 8th, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: Jack Kirby Doug Wildey Mike Mignola Featured Page: Green Lantern #56 Cover (Large Art) by Gil Kane If I didn’t have my large art Green Lantern cover, I would never give this one up. There are very few of these covers that have ever come on the market or even are in existence. Certainly not many that are this good. It also doesn’t get much better than having it drawn by Gil Kane and Murphy Anderson. To put the price in perspective, the last 2 wonderful George Perez covers sold for $288,000, one a Justice League cover and the other an Avengers. Last night a good, not great, Bob Layton, Iron Man cover sold for $82,000. Of course I can offer up many more examples both cheaper or more expensive but my point is you could spend a lot more money on other covers and not necessarily get the same visual impact that this cover will give you. NEW ART FRIDAYS update this week includes art from Jim Starlin, Gil Kane, Jack Kirby, Mike Mignola, Herb Trimpe, Matt Broome, Andy Kubert, Craig Brasfield, George Roussos, Jerry Talaoc, Doug Wildey, Ed Hannigan, Rich Buckler, John Romita, Jr, Mike Sekowsky, Ric Estrada, Carmine Infantino, Jeff Rebner, Philip Xavier, and Jim Mooney! 2. Today, March 1st, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: Brian Bolland Graham Ingels Basil Wolverton Featured Page: Amazing Spider-Man #45 p14 (Extraordinary) by John Romita, Sr. There may not be a better battle page by John Romita Sr. that has been offered up for sale. I did see a nice page that Heritage sold last year for around $140,000 from issue 69 but that was from the small art format and not like this one that’s a lot bigger in the large art format. Every panel is great on this page and Issue #45 is considered one of the great storylines from Romita’s run on Spider-Man. What’s interesting is that it’s much harder to find a great, early Spider-Man original art page drawn by John Romita Sr. than it is to find a great Ditko Spider-Man page considering that John only did issues 39-53 which were in the large art format — so only 15 issues compared to the 38 issues that Steve Ditko drew. Being penciled and inked by John Romita also makes this page stand out. In the large art format Romita only did both for issues 42-48. A lot of these issues are mostly complete so hardly any pages come up for sale. So for these reasons the page is very exceptional. NEW ART FRIDAYS update this week includes art from Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, John Romita, Sr, Todd McFarlane, Basil Wolverton, Jack Kirby, Graham Ingels, Richard Howell, Ron Wilson, Brian Bolland, Tom Sutton, Ron Wilson, Ed Hannigan, Matthew Marsilia, Luis Dominguez, Carmine Infantino, Greg Land, Lee Elias, Kurt Schaffenberger, Al Williamson, and Fran Matera! Barry Windsor-Smith John Byrne Bernie Wrightson Featured Page: Robin II B Cover (Signed) by Kelley Jones This is truly an extraordinary Kelley Jones Batman cover. It is quite unusual to find a cover for sale by Jones. NEW ART FRIDAYS update this week includes art from Sal Buscema, Kelley Jones, Ross Andru, John Byrne, Barry Windsor-Smith, John Buscema, Marie Severin, Gene Colan, Sal Velluto, Irv Novick, Andy Kuhn, Bob Hall, Bernie Wrigtson, Mike Zeck, Dillin, Ric Estrada, Jack Kirby, Butch Guice, and John Romita, Jr! 6. Today, February 17th, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: Jack Kirby Mike Mignola Russ Heath Featured Page: Spider-Man #16 p8 (¾ splash) by Todd McFarlane This is one of the great stories in the McFarlane run of Spider-Man. I’m sure he wanted to go out in a big way considering that it was the last issue that Todd worked on in the title. The X-Force are well represented on this title: Shatterstar, Warpath, Domino, and even Juggernaut's mammoth hand makes an appearance. NEW ART FRIDAYS update this week includes art from Todd McFarlane, Mike Mignola, Russ Heath, Jack Kirby, Cliff Chiang, Don Heck, Jim Mooney, Kurt Schaffenberger, Gerry Talaoc, Frank Thorne, and Ron Frenz! Featured Artists: Jack Kirby John Byrne Mike Zeck Featured Page: Journey Into Mystery #108 p4 (⅔ Splash - Large Art) by Jack Kirby Doctor Don Blake, aka Thor, saves Doctor Strange's life. The first three panels are, arguably, perfect images if you’re a Thor fan. They are exquisite transformation panels. The bottom splash is gorgeously inked by Chic Stone. 8. Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS - On Monday we will spotlight a special piece of art for your collecting pleasure. STUNNING BEAST Amazing Adventures #12 p1 (Second Furry Beast) The furry Beast was born in the issue before this one. Mike Ploog heralds his arrival by giving us this magnificent splash of the Beast. The rain makes him seem like a wax figure melting his malevolence upon an unexpecting world. This is clearly the best splash of the Beast that’s been created. I should know since I went through every issue looking for a better one 😁. This is, arguably, better than having any of the covers of the run other than his first appearance in the prior issue. This piece was a tough one to part with. SEE IT! » Sign up on our site (page bottom) to find out what our art releases will be a day in advance with our preview emails. Featured Artists: Jack Kirby Wally Wood John Byrne Featured Page: Infinity Gauntlet #5 p21 by Ron Lim I can’t believe how in demand these Infinity Gauntlet pages have become. Especially ones with the Silver Surfer and Thanos. And to have them both here and have Warlock is just the icing on the cake. Those that know this book well will know the significance of this page. I hope I don’t disappoint too many that don’t get this page. 10. Check it out if you want. Feel free to make an offer. http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=5536 Thank you. Mark
  11. Hi, Will and Malvin are correct on this piece - ebay item of Thor 136, page 15. The seller has listed the item more than once as ORIGINAL ART but different sizes and has ended these auctions with bids but no winners. I own the OA to this page, so please beware. Mark
  12. I own the original art to this page, and with all due respect to the seller who writes "PRINT" twice on the description, the title is a little misleading. Additionally, this page was posted last week with a different size (8 X 10 rather than 11 X 17) and that auction, after garnering some bids, ended with no buyer/bids. http://www.ebay.com/itm/302442134994?rmvSB=true Mark
