  1. Honest question: How on earth did black flag add an acetate cover so that the edges line up perfectly with the book? Comic book covers are folded and trimmed during production to ensure the edges are aligned with the interior, but these were added by some dude with a stapler. Can you imagine trying to fold a sheet of plastic perfectly in half, staple it to an existing comic and have all the edges magically line up with the book/interior for a Mint 10.0 copy?
  2. Awesome show! Thanks everybody for attending! Here are some show pics, one of @The Brain with Mark Badger’s new addition to his art jam shirt. And last is my humble haul - two Brereton signed books and an original piece by Badger. So stoked!
  3. If your PO has one of those self service machines, they are a quicker way to check the books into the system with “proof” you dropped them off (receipt). I had the same thing happen to me and started using this machine - no problems since.
  4. Had this buyer (trueauctionsforless) purchase a 3-pack of BSG books today. Minutes later I get this message: So he buys the books, then asks for an instant cancel if I can’t promise 9.8s? On 40 year old books in a sealed bag for $35? Also noticed he has a 9.8 of BSG 1 for sale for $700+ What a tool.
  5. I’ll collect multiples of books I love, but only if something is different: direct, newsstand, pedigree, double cover, Mark Jewelers, etc.
  6. I think this was my favorite show so far! And we’ve done a lot of shows! I had so many great comic conversations with so many cool people. Darick Robertson was an absolute joy! The guy has just been killing it in comics, and his creation ‘The Boys’ is dominating Amazon, but somehow he’s the friendliest guy you’ve ever met. We gave away a bunch of Darick books, and Harv Doss donated six CGC graded books, which we also gave away today - there were a bunch of stoked comic book collectors! @The Brain was in charge of the parking lot as usual (thank you my friend!), and Darick did a killer Spider Jerusalem head sketch on his ‘comic art jam’ T-Shirt. I picked up a super nice set of Planet of the Apes magazine 1-3 from Ian, and am very excited about that. Thanks to all the dealers, the shops that pass out our fliers, and especially everyone who attended! Marc and I appreciate you.
  7. Fantastic artist. RIP.
  8. If you compare it to having a retail space, which you would probably need to get the same traffic, it’s much cheaper. No rent, insurance, power bill, trash bill, etc. That said, the fees are painful.
  9. Not sure, but at least a year. I just sold an item for $200 plus $20 shipping. Standard fee was 12.9% = $28.38 ($220 x 12.9%) Because it was an international sale, there was an additional 1.65% fee of $3.63 ($220 x 1.65%) Plus the fixed .30 final value fee per item.
  10. Was it an international sale? They charge an extra fee for international. They also charge fees on shipping.
  11. Thank you for all the great memories - Love you George!
  12. Oh no! Terrible news. Such a nice guy, and the greatest comic book artist of all time imo.
  13. Great deal, fast shipping, well packed. Thanks again! Tim
  14. I just got it graded. Only the second one I’ve seen, and I own the other one I’ve seen (hulk 200). I’m sure there must be more.
  15. I’m curious, how did you make money using whatnot at the shows? Were you doing auctions during the show? Selling items you have at the show, or items back home? Selling to people at the show, or at home? Do you have a dedicated person for whatnot, and another for ‘in person’ sales? Thanks!
  16. Oh man now I have another thing to search for haha. Very cool, thanks!
  17. Oh wow, I’ve never heard of or seen the Cap set. Do you know it exists?
  18. I collect the vintage MOC unpunched Marvel Hot Wheels, and MOC unpunched funny cars with basic wheels. As with comics, I severely limit my focus so I don’t buy everything that I like. 0
