  1. The problem is that company profits and or outside investments should have funded that. You don't take funds allocated for production/materials. If you have no money to produce, you stop generating income. "I wanted to be the biggest business". That's a problem when that is the company agenda; it should be providing a quality, timely service. The company will scale as production cycles are consistently completed.
  2. This person is a real gem of a human being. Blames everything on anyone or anything other than himself. We all have problems buddy, it's just that we're too old to use them as excuses. You know you are not good at business when you don't know your exact cost to perform a unit of service. Even worse when the allocated funds (prepaid) are squandered long before said service is performed. At least he should get some sort of accounting counseling course during his bankruptcy case.
  3. After reading most of this, the part that is really concerning is the no refund if you cancel policy. There has to be contract performance by HR, otherwise one could construe the actual business structure was to collect monies for services that in reality HR never intended to be rendered, forcing the client to request cancellation due to the performance issue. Rinse, repeat, free profit. The Ponzi scheme analogy is very close in my opinion. If they do not have the money to refund or even ship back goods, they were basically waiting on future monies to pay for previously promised services to others. If that's the case, do you really think you are getting your books back? Interestingly enough, the original registrant of the LLC has moved/sold property several times since their recent windfall of cash.
  4. Not to split hairs here but the registered agent is simply that. On my business the registered agent is the attorney I pay to file annually/maintain/make changes; who that is is irrelevant however the officers registered during formation is/are. The business being dissolved does not absolve it from any wrongdoings while it was still in operation. In terms of recovering funds, if you can determine a person misused or intermingled funds with their LLC/etc (pierce the veil), you can go after personal assets once the protections of the LLC are broken. Of course take this with a grain of salt as my experience is in Georgia.
  5. It may be my sentimentality on these, but even at 18k, I would rather have the books in hand than insurance monies. That said, a third party can easily refute the value despite the rarity. Grats on that set btw. Beautiful copies.
  6. Or it could have the opposite effect. It has had added attention over the past year and in the end is still a black bordered, low print book (primer).
  7. I appreciate that and will try to engage more often. Unfortunately I have been conditioned to search before asking on other forums (non comic related) so my initial process is to search and not ask. They actually track 'reading time' and refuse to answer anything if you're under a certain threshold of reading time. Yeah, they're a salty bunch.
  8. Mage and Grendel are my favorite books. I was so close on getting a 9.6 Grendel 1 to round out the collection but the greenlight put that out of reach.
  9. As a newb I typically don't have much to contribute and generally most questions I have Iwould rather search for the answer than pose a question that has been asked previously.
  10. This is a shot in the dark but a company that make those (racks) is here in Atlanta, Enterprise Wire Products. I don't know if they make one ofs or not but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
  11. As a buyer I understand the basic function of this, or at least how it promotes. The problem with it, though, is there is no way to remove or refuse the offer as a buyer. 9 out of 10 times if the offer was decent I may bite but they are usually like 1-5%off. So if you were previously taking offers or had a buyout, I can't do anything until the offer you just sent expires. Then I have to get into messaging people and if you are new to me, I can find something very similar in about 2 minutes. At the end of the day make it easy for the buyer, which will take some more tweaking by ebay.
