  1. I had the boards grade mine and people were saying 7.0, i think someone said lower. Press and cleaned and got a 8.5
  2. I think you should get it cleaned, pressed, and graded. I think you might be surprised at the grade you get on this. I just got my ASM 129 back from CGC and got an 8.5. Obviously your copy has some things wrong with it, but I think it could be cleaned up a little bit. Wouldn't be surprised at all if you pulled a 6.0
  3. its so hard to judge these new comics from Marvel and some of the DC ones because the paper they are printed on is such thin . The spines are already compressed when they arrive and they all have a vertical spine line from the compression. But I guess they still graded by CGC as 9.8's because that's just how they were printed. I wish CGC would give a clear answer on if the spine is broken from normal opening and closing or just compression, does that hurt the grade. Im not talking about a frayed or damaged spine.
  4. You have a pictures of yours? I hear they are really getting tough with these
  5. That's not a color breaking tick near the UPC box, that's part of the cover, its how they all look. That top right corner may get dinged but I highly doubt it. The fact that the book is not printed, cut, or stapled perfect does not matter in terms of grading unless it is caused outside of manufacturing like spine roll. I have had quite a few of these ASM 361's graded and I have 9.8's that have both the printer grab and unaligned cover. I agree that they might be cracking down on the printer grab tares, they are not taking off points for mis-alignment. This book is at minimum a 9.4 and most likely a 9.6 and if they slide that printer grab through ( which sometimes they have, sometimes they don't) this could be a candidate for a 9.8. I have 2 that look just like this in 9.8
  6. I would say probably 9.6. Its a shoot with the tear at the bottom, even though it is a known manufacturing defect with the printer grabs and tares. Sometimes the slide it sometimes they don't. I actually have 11 of these out for grading right now and I think most of them are 9.8 candidates.
  7. I think these guys are being to harsh I think its between 8.5-9.0
  8. I agree with Comicginger. This is definitely going to take a hit because of the back but most likely between 5.0-6.0 is what I would expect. You should really see if you should try to get that back cover cleaned up. I do cleaning and pressing, and it looks like a few of those stains could come out a bid, not all of them mind you. Such a shame because without those stains id say its at least a 7.5
  9. Its most likely a 9.8. This series for like the first few books were made very well and stand the test of time. The corners usually stay really sharp on this book as well. If it gets dropped to a 9.6, the top right corner might be the reason as it doesn't look as sharp, but that could just be the picture and it probably wont effect the grade. I had a gold one slabbed not to long ago, not because its of any value, but just because I love this cover and that came back a 9.8 so that's what I will say you will most likely get. That's assuming that there isn't anything wrong on the interior or there is a flaw that the pictures just don't show.
  10. A press would definitely help with this and a cleaning might too. Hard to stay if those stains would come out. Right now Id say its in the 9.0-9.2 range. I could see a press and a real good cleaning bringing this up to a 9.6 if those stains comes out.
  11. I agree. I had an ASM 252 that had about the same amount of ticks minus the larger one near the speaking bubble and the dog ear on the back and that got an 8.5. This is probably a 7.0 or a 7.5. Ive seen books that are 9.8's with a dog ear get knocked down to 8.0 for that alone.
  12. Its definitely works better, you can zoom in on the photos, so I like it. That being said, there are real crabby people on these boards that I have run into that will basically chastise you for anything and everything. So I could see some insufficiently_thoughtful_person telling you that you need to post the pictures in the body or they wont be able to grade it. Those kind of people just rub me the wrong way.
  13. Im going to safely say 9.2-9.4. It could be higher but because of the spine wear I doubt it especially because these books are not known to have spine wear off the press like some books do. Also, Im not positive but I don't think this is a Rai #0 glossy. I think this is the Matte version. They are very hard to tell from one another as the Matte one still has a little gloss effect to it. The glossy ones usually have a cover that is a little bit shorter than the pages on the right hand side.
  14. Its just part of the cover, from the picture it does look like something you're right. Thanks for your input man, appreciate you.
