Why is ASM 55 hot? I have a copy sitting in my waiting to be read pile. As an aside, it's the only title that I still have in my LCS file.

I think it's reasonable to say that a small percentage of collectors wouldn't enter the hobby if Modern DC comics are no longer published. What I'm not sure about is the correlation between those that buy new material and those that collect Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Are they one and the same? How do people get into buying vintage material these days? My guess is that we wouldn't see an impact immediately even if the other publishers stopped making new floppies. The longer term impact would take decades to play out. Personally, I would like to see further movement away from single issues and migrate towards digital and collected editions.

Guys, keep it civil, please. There are now two movie threads (one Marvel and one Dc) that I bypass because of all the infighting.

My UXM V3 has a forecast ship date. I have no plans to get V4, but plan on picking up New X-Men by Morrison. After that I don’t plan anymore X-Men purchases. I’m curious what everyone thinks the quintessential runs are in the X-Men Pantheon.

I wish that I had known this approach back in the day, but truth be told, these books were less readily available pre-internet where I lived.

You could always buy these other books again. If you can only have one book, AF15 would be my top choice.

I got a good deal on these ASM books on Facebook (of all places). I can’t believe the size of Vol 1 compared to Vol 4. How do I tell if it’s a first print?
