    @CGC Mike

Idk if it helps? But I was again able to add pics and adjust descriptions to the registry, today. Didn't try to add a book, nor does the cert look up work.

I was under the impression that nothing worked, so maybe this is progress, idk

Some functionality lives exclusively on the website and other pieces rely on fetching information from our internal system. Our Verizon circuit was completely down as well as our backup connection. So, any function that fetches data was down - cert verification, submission tracking, new registry entries, etc. So sorry for the inconvenience. All website functionality should be up and working as expected. Please let us know if you are still seeing issues anywhere. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

The really odd thing is that removing joined dates does remove the main qualifier that creates a hierarchy here.

CGC has more to gain by removing the info because it eliminates objective perception of who long time boardies with esteemed opinions are. Now we all "got here at the same time" so we're all equal and it's easier for CGC to moderate the conversation- which conveniently comes at a time where they have the most amount of bad publicity going on with the C2E2 drama, the decreased quality control issues, grading issues, and other problems.

Getting defensive only makes it more suspicious. (shrug)

Nothing nefarious here. I am actively looking into why the join dates disappeared. It was as much a surprise to us as it is to you.

  3. Thanks for your comments and interest in the registry.

The positive response to the release of the CSG Registry has been overwhelming and we already have a couple hundred set type requests and slot additions. We are actively working to add another CSG registry team member so we can get through the requests more quickly. We appreciate the patience of the users who are hanging in there as we ramp up to handle the volume. We look forward to burning through the backlog more quickly.

    Kudos to the winners!

First year here, so will continue to build out on registry,

Worked pretty hard on my first registry, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vol 1 set to add the 90+ images and descriptions and have the highest completion % at 98% missing only the #1 First Print.

Just going to have to work harder to take the top award!

As wytshus said earlier in this thread, it's incredibly difficult to choose winners when we have a sea of awesome sets to consider. This year more than any previous year, we realize that it is time to add more opportunities to win. You've all stepped up your game and we will too. Stay tuned for details about the 2023 award cycle!

  5. Thanks for your questions and sorry for the delay in responding. There is not yet a way to see what sets have been requested but I can definitely add that to our list of functionality requests. We are already working on the functionality to alert users when their request has been fulfilled. We hope to have that for you soon.

Let me know the set types you requested and I can see if they are close to release. We have lots of requests and we have a couple of admins working full time to get new categories up ASAP.

We appreciate your enthusiasm for the registry!

I have e-mailed Matt about this, and he has contacted the group to correct this.  Hopefully, they get it fixed ASAP.

This is a function of security that keeps our sites from being scraped for data. These throttling rules are different depending on the role of the site visitor. The rules are based on the number of lookups done in a certain period of time. A logged in user will have more lenient rules associated with their account.

If a logged in user is consistently running up against the limit, we'd like to understand how they are using the tool before those rules are adjusted. For example, a user recently reported the same issue and, after chatting, I found that the user was looking up every item on his submission to get grading results. He was not aware that he had access to grades on the submission tracking page.

If you are a user who is logged in and consistently running up against the limit, let me know how you are using the tool so we can make an informed decision about how to proceed. If we can avoid it, we don't want to sacrifice security to open the door for harvesting data. With that said, if adjusting the throttling limits is the only solution, we are not against it.

  7. Thanks for your comments and interest in the registry,

Creating and scoring sets is very time consuming. Our registry admin consulted with our Trading Card experts to come up with a list of sets that we would have at launch. This was never meant to be an exhaustive list. We knew that if we waited to add all set types, we would never get it off the ground. The plan was to continue to build sets after launch based on our list and based on requests. All of the set types mentioned here are already on our list of sets to add.

We would have planned more for launch if we anticipated the immediate level of interest. The positive response has been overwhelming and we already have a couple hundred set type requests. We are already working on new set types and we are adding another registry team member so we can get new set types up more quickly. We can't wait to see how this grows over time!

Here's what I'm assuming  - The competitive sets can only have 1 of each card, so when you have multiples you should choose the best one. When you added the 2nd card the first card was deleted and replaced with the 2nd card. The other card can be used in a different competing set, like a Charmander set, I think.

Yes, your assumption is correct. 1 card per slot.
