  1. I've had them grade books at or stricter than the grades they were sold to me as.
  2. Story-wise, clearly TMNT draws primarily from Daredevil. But the art draws more from Ronin.
  3. Don't even get me started on Spider-Man and Zoids...
  4. Mark Waid -script. Adam Hughes cover. Decades-old super-team. Yuh. Drek.
  5. And Miller did covers for it, and, I believe, was inspired by the art (and/or artist). Looking at the Ronin artwork, it's hard to imagine having TMNT if we didn't have Ronin for them to spoof...
  6. It probably depends on whether there's an obvious way to tell the difference.
  7. That's not how people use the phrase. 181 is Wolvie's first FULL appearance. That's all it's short for.
  8. Moore / O'Neill. Ennis / artist whose name escapes me who did Demon and ...
  9. There is, I believe, an Absolute edition, as well as an Artist's Edition (in which they scan the original art). They're amazing.
  10. It's also...and I probably repeat myself here...one of the most moving, pointed stories about comic books, especially superhero comic books, and their readers. If you didn't get that from it--I didn't for a long time--go back and re-read it. It's about power fantasies.
  11. I was a big De Carlo fan. But definitely not on Aparo. I enjoyed De Carlo on Golden, for instance. But, yeah, Aparo benefited more from an inker like Sienkiewicz, I thought, who unstiffened some of his later work. Granted, Sienkiewicz also pretty much Sienkiewiczed Aparo, but that was mostly a good thing, as far as latter-day Aparo was concerned.
  12. He did some recent stuff. For interiors" on the title, I recommend checking comics.org.
  13. 70K sounds extremely high to me for a third- or fourth-tier DC character in a non-event mini-series these days. Anyone got proof/evidence/confirmation of the actual number?
  14. I was speaking generally...can't vouch for that issue.
  15. What is what? What exactly is the "mystery" around this book? Is it a clue to a murder I'm not aware of?
  16. Pretty sure origin stories...when not embedded in 1st apps...are keys.
  17. ...and if you never figured out that it's about comic books, then you haven't appreciated it. Which means it's underappreciated.
  18. Amazing how many people don't see what a ground-breaking, transitional work this was. It changed a lot and made a lot possible.
  19. True, but though it's a nice page, the title character doesn't appear (I think?)...so not too likely to generate a lot of heat. Nevertheless, a nice page!
  20. Respectfully disagree. I think his style suffered as he got older. It was noticeable to me even in the late 1980s.
