  6. Ed Kramer Arrested Convicted sex offender, DragonCon co-founder Ed Kramer back in jail By Isabel Hughes isabel.hughes@gwinnettdailypost.com 22 hrs ago Convicted child molester and DragonCon co-founder Ed Kramer is back in jail, having been arrested for allegedly photographing a young boy at a Lawrenceville doctor’s office. Kramer was arrested by Lawrenceville Police Department officers on Tuesday, five days after he was accused of taking photos of a boy believed to be seven years old, an incident report said. According to the report, officers were dispatched to Gwinnett Pulmonary Group after receiving a call that Kramer, after leaving a doctor’s appointment, remained in the check-out area and was watching the boy. “He was later seen watching the child and holding his cell phone in a manner that suggested that he was photographing (the) child,” the report said. “The complainant stated that she observed the flash of the camera and she stated that (Kramer’s) eyes never left the boy.” Other staff members also saw the alleged photography, with one woman telling police she saw Kramer “following the victim with his phone held out in front of him, trailing the victim’s movement,” the report said. Medical office staff told police they were concerned about Kramer because he’s a registered sex offender who bears the Georgia classification of “sexually dangerous predator” — something the Duluth resident challenged last year in Fulton County Superior Court. Kramer pleaded guilty to three counts of child molestation in 2013 and was sentenced to an aggregate of 20 years, with the first five to be served in home confinement. He is no longer on house arrest, but still wears an ankle monitor. Kramer, who co-founded DragonCon in 1987, has not been involved with the convention since 2000 when he was arrested for the alleged molestations. His prosecution was delayed for years due to constant legal posturing and a litany of medical issues, reportedly ranging from neck pain and hearing issues to emphysema and psoriatic arthritis, Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter previously said. In September 2011, Kramer was arrested again after he was found in a Connecticut hotel room with a 14-year-old boy. The stipulations of Kramer’s bond prohibited him from having any unsupervised contact with a child under 16 years old and he was extradited to Gwinnett following the arrest. Kramer remained part owner of DragonCon until July 2013, when he was bought out by the organization, four months prior to his guilty plea. It was not immediately known if the timing was connected to the plea, though many had urged DragonCon to cut ties with the co-founder in the years following his initial arrest. Kramer’s bond for the most recent charges is set at $22,200. As of Wednesday afternoon, he remained in jail.
  7. Sometimes when viewing items for sale I have accidentally hit one of FB auto responses when trying to back out of viewing. I have not found a way to turn off the annoying option yet. However, I will let the seller know that I hit the button by accident when it happens.
  8. The way I read it is that eBay will charge the buyer the sales tax for their state, collect the tax, and send it in to each state. I do not believe the seller will ever touch any of the tax revenue as eBay will handle all things sales tax. I have a resale license and am required to collect sales tax for any sales within my state. At this time, my state is not one of the ones on the list for eBay to collect so I must continue to collect and remit sales tax on all my in state sales. I'm sure eBay will earn interest off all the sales tax they collect on behalf of their sellers. Especially if they have to follow the same guidelines as I do and send payments in quarterly.
  9. eBay will collect and remit sales tax for the impacted states. The seller need not do anything different from their current routine. Sellers are still responsible for collecting & remitting tax for sales within their own state.
  10. I've shared this one before but never could figure out if it was published or not. It is Huckleberry Fink and friend from Sick magazine by Joe Simon.
  11. Some sellers were offered the opportunity to opt into their new payment system which excludes PayPal. I suppose this is eBay's way of testing their upcoming switch to handling credit cards directly through eBay and/or their switch to Adyen in the upcoming years. I chose not to opt in as it would limit the potential pool of buyers who use PayPal exclusively. They have since stated that PayPal will be included in future versions of their payment system.
